My super Parisian day with ZoomOn

I love great tips, as you know, and more than anything, I love sharing them! Because I believe that a great tip that spreads, circulates from one ear to another, and allows as many people as possible to enjoy it is so much better than keeping it to yourself. That’s a little bit (a lot) of the reason why I created this blog, actually…

So when I find out there are sites that have the same vision and goal as I do, I can only rejoice and be enthusiastic!

That’s the case for ZoomOn, a local social media platform dedicated to great tips (49 Facebook pages, 3 Twitter accounts, a blog, and newsletters).

What I really appreciated about this medium, specialized in tips for locals, is its local focus with tips by city (something I also try to do with varying degrees of success on the blog in my ‘tips by city/country’ section).

The mission of ZoomOn: to make people fall in love with a city or region by sharing great tips in all areas (leisure, nightlife, food, activities for kids…)

During a very special day, I was able to discover their new Facebook application “The Hyper Parisian”, the app to prank your friends!

The concept: the application allows you to stage yourself on Facebook in an unusual or unlikely place to impress your friends and blow their minds with a completely crazy status! Swimming with sharks at the Paris Aquarium, visiting the Louvre Museum at night with guest stars… even if you aren’t really doing it… all of this is virtually possible with the Hyper Parisian.

ZoomOn's Hyper Parisian, diver with sharks and fake Facebook post.

But while the app allows you to prank your friends with improbable check-ins, for our part with ZoomOn, it was a real day of incredible discoveries that we experienced.

My real check-in for this Hyper Parisian day and a little photo report:

  • a lunch at Le Meurice
  • a headband workshop at Ismérie
  • a behind-the-scenes visit to the Opéra Garnier
  • a cocktail workshop with Carina at Glass (my go-to cocktail spot for the past few months)
Table set in a chic restaurant, glassware, flowers, and a wall mural.

White orchid near a sink and mirror with Table elegantly set for dinner, cozy atmosphere, flowers, tableware.

Burrata, tomato, green breading, and crispy crackers on a chic plate.

Slices of rare beef with asparagus and a side dish on a decorated plate.

Cream puff dessert with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and gold leaf.Luxurious hotel corridor with marble floor, pale green wood paneling, and orchids.

Hairstyle with a braided headband during a workshop.Parisian hairstyle with a colorful headband and a hatted artist.

Chandelier and painted ceiling by Chagall at the Opéra Garnier, Paris.Grand interior staircase richly decorated with chandeliers and marble columns.

Metal shakers on a bar, nocturnal Parisian atmosphere with a blurry bartender.Straw, alcohol bottles, toothpicks, and salami on a wooden table.

The Great Tip: I highly advise you to keep a particularly close eye on the ‘Paris on a budget’ section which contains a great selection of free activities in Paris!
