Like every year, on this March 8th, we celebrate International Women’s Day all over the world (well, almost). To celebrate this event in my own way, I am offering you my small selection of tips that I have unearthed for us women, to ensure we truly have a wonderful day this Sunday, March 8th, 2026.

Lime x cyclAvenir x Womenability
Lime, a leader in micromobility, is partnering with cyclAvenir and Womenability to offer an event in Paris dedicated to women, combining electric bike training with a guided, exploratory cultural tour on the theme of the traces left by feminist struggles in today’s public space. On March 6th from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Womenability and cyclAvenir will host a guided urban tour titled “Women in Struggle,” dedicated to revolts, collective mobilizations, and the winning of rights: how, throughout history, women have claimed public space to organize, fight, and make their demands heard. The route will highlight several Parisian locations where they played a central role—from revolutionary episodes to social struggles and more contemporary feminist movements—often rendered invisible in official narratives. This tour aims to make these commitments visible, link the fights of yesterday to the mobilizations of today, and encourage speaking out and empowerment.

3 cultural events to honor Korean female creation
This March, the Korean Cultural Center in Paris is offering a special program blending cinema, literature, and performance around three strong female figures. Between social critique, everyday stories, and artistic expression, this program offers a rare panorama of contemporary Korean female creation, echoing current debates on the place of women.
On the program:
- March 19th: screening of the film Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982, an international feminist phenomenon
- March 20th: an exceptional meeting with author Cho Nam Joo
- March 26th: a poetry and performance evening with the venerable Ju Seok, between art and spirituality

The National Museum of Natural History launches a series of 10 videos on female scientists
The National Museum of Natural History is launching a new video series dedicated to female scientists who have marked the history of natural sciences. To kick off the series, the Museum collaborated with Léa Barbier (@leapassionvintage), a content creator specializing in the popularization of historical female portraits. She pays tribute to female scientists in a short introductory video. The first portrait of the series, dedicated to Madeleine Basseporte, will be unveiled on March 8th, 2026, on the Museum’s social media (find it on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and the Museum’s YouTube channel).

Leadership, ambition, and female power: Éditions Prochain Chapitre
For the week of International Women’s Day, Éditions Prochain Chapitre is launching its first two books and bringing forward two experts who shake up the codes of female leadership with concrete tools, far from the usual inspirational speeches. A meeting and book signing will take place on March 10th at the Eyrolles bookstore (Paris 5th) from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Two authors:
- Marina Movsisian, former Google executive and TEDx speaker, deciphers the invisible codes of professional power in Ambitieuse, et alors ? (Ambitious, so what?): visibility, salary negotiation, leadership posture… a pragmatic guide for those who refuse to remain the “good student.”
- Mayanick Rémir, a coach specializing in brief therapy and polyvagal theory, offers an unexpected reading of self-sabotage in Et sage et garce: what if our professional blocks were primarily biological? A very current approach focused on the nervous system and sustainable performance.

Potentiel Illimité at the Mogador Theater
On March 20th, the iconic Mogador Theater in Paris will host Potentiel Illimité (Unlimited Potential), an immersive day dedicated to female empowerment envisioned by Sarah Allart. Bringing together 1,600 women, the event will offer a collective experience mixing inspiring talks, testimonies, giant coaching sessions, and immersive experiences, with recognized speakers such as Maud Ankaoua, Florence Servan-Schreiber, and Virginie Delalande. Beyond the personal experience, 10% of every ticket price will be donated to UN Women France, affirming the project’s solidarity commitment.

A play: The Assembly of Women
Tired of seeing men’s inability to resolve the City’s crisis, the women of Athens are ready for anything to seize power. But how to bypass the laws that prevent them from participating in political life? Faced with insurmountable obstacles, only guile will do. So, dressed as men, our intrepid Athenians arrive at the Assembly at dawn and succeed in passing a law giving full powers to women. Once invested with their new power, they waste no time starting the Great Reform of the City: everything, absolutely everything, must be pooled and then redistributed in the strictest equality.
2,400 years ago, in his satirical comedy, Aristophanes was already pointing out the imperfections of the budding democratic model, so dreamed of, but in which the common good inevitably ends up yielding to individual interest. This free adaptation of Aristophanes’ work is refocused on power, its vicissitudes, and its excesses, in all spheres.

The Palace of Versailles celebrates women
For International Women’s Day, the Palace of Versailles is honoring the female figures (queens, princesses, favorites, or women serving the court) who have marked the history of Versailles. From March 3rd to 8th, 2026, an exceptional program will be offered for all audiences: guided tours (including free guided tours on the weekend of March 7/8), theatrical tours, evening tours, and round-table discussions.

Women in Archaeology III at the Carnavalet Museum with the MAN
For International Women’s Day, a five-year cycle of “Women in Archaeology” study days, inaugurated in 2024, is held around March 8th to highlight research and studies on the subject of women in archaeology. This third edition will exceptionally be held at the Carnavalet Museum. These study days aim to restore a place to women whose contribution and work in archaeology have been minimized, or even made invisible. This third installment will be dedicated to a sociological examination of the theme, both from the point of view of careers and the mechanisms associated with their development, and that of the place of women on archaeological sites.

Botran celebrates the women of Rum
For International Women’s Day on March 8th, Botran, a producer of rums in Guatemala since 1940, is launching Botran Her, an initiative dedicated to the women who shape rum, from its production in Guatemala to its showcasing in bars in France. Throughout the month of March, Botran Her comes to life every week in a selection of partner establishments across France, embodying an evolving cocktail scene driven by committed women. Each stop offers: guest bartending by female figures of the bar; tastings and signature cocktails; and moments of exchange around Botran’s know-how, particularly sugarcane honey.
On the program:
- Marseille – March 5th and 6th: At the heart of the Marseille scene, the tour begins at Bayrum with Caroline Tardy, then continues at Dérive with Elsa LeBlanc. Two personalities who will offer creations around Botran rum, such as Alma (Botran 15 years, Amaro Montenegro, citrus), or cocktails mixing banana cream and bitters.
- Lyon – March 12th and 13th: Several bar institutions are participating in the initiative such as Le Fantôme de l’Opéra, Groom, Mimo, and L’Antiquaire, with Jessica André, then Livestation with Lou Erigoni.
- Lille – March 18th: The Shelby Bar hosts the tour in an elegant and accessible atmosphere, true to the venue’s DNA.
- North – Cambrai & Arras – March 19th and 20th: The tour will also continue in the North with stops at L’After Bar (Cambrai) with Anne-Charlotte and Madrigale (Arras).
- Paris – March 26th: A Parisian stop is planned at Gatsby with Laure Terrat, to close this first phase of the tour in the capital.

“Mauvaises filles. Incorrigibles et rebelles” at the Gironde Departmental Archives
As part of the exhibition Effacées. L’enfermement au féminin (Erased. Female Incarceration) at the Château de Cadillac (visible until April 26th, 2026, at 72 cours Balguerie-Stuttenberg in Bordeaux) and on the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Gironde Departmental Archives are highlighting the women that this exhibition helps to better know, by presenting “Mauvaises filles” (Bad Girls), on Saturday, March 7th and Sunday, March 8th, 2026.
- Saturday, March 7th, 2026, at 2:30 PM: Conference around the book Mauvaises filles. Incorrigibles et rebelles by authors Véronique Blanchard, junior professor in contemporary history at the University of Angers, and David Niget, lecturer in contemporary history at the University of Angers.

Women in space and aeronautics
The Cité de l’espace and L’Envol des Pionniers in Toulouse are partnering with the Quai des Savoirs to propose an original program for International Women’s Day. This special program will center on the role of women in science and particularly in the fields of space and aeronautics. On the program for this week dedicated to women in science: meetings, round tables, exhibitions, and exchanges with students.
