My Nuits Sonores

As you may have gathered by now, I am originally from Lyon and I am very fond of this city. I am actually particularly proud, for instance, that France’s premier electronic music festival is based in Lyon!

There are moments like these, throughout the year, when I love returning for a few days to the capital of the Gauls to enjoy cultural events such as Nuits Sonores, which will be held this year from May 7 to 12, 2013.

I already told you about it last year here, and I think I can even say that I was in Lyon for the very first edition of Nuits Sonores, just as I will be again this year, because it is always a pleasant time to stroll through this beautiful city.

This urban event is an opportunity for a journey through the city to discover the wildest areas of Lyon, from public squares to abandoned industrial wasteland, combined with a rediscovery of the city’s nightlife, fostering a space for freedom and musical creation.

As with every year, many concerts and events will be held in Lyon for this occasion, and obviously, I am offering my personal guide to the festival’s free events and best tips.

  • Apéros Sonores every day from 2:30 PM to 9:30 PM / Free
  • Extra the free off-program from April 30 to May 12
  • Nuit 2 – Le Circuit / 9 stages throughout the city on Thursday, May 9, 2013, from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM / €2, single price for each stage, sold exclusively on-site
  • Mini Sunday, a free afternoon at the Subsistances on Sunday, May 12 from 3:30 PM to 9:00 PM

To all those who are heading to Lyon for Nuits Sonores, I wish you a fantastic festival and look forward to perhaps running into you in the middle of this city-wide celebration.
