Just because I often talk about Parisian deals doesn’t mean nothing is happening elsewhere—quite the contrary! Here is the proof today with a post about the cool events taking place in Monte-Carlo to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the S.B.M. (“Société des Bains de Mer et du Cercle des Etrangers à Monaco,” now known as Monte-Carlo SBM). “1863: And Monaco invented Monte-Carlo. 2013: the legend continues…” Throughout the year 2013, the group will host festivities on-site, with an exceptional celebration themed around dreams.

Main festive highlights:

  • The Rose Ball kicks off the celebrations on March 23rd under the theme “Rose Ball of the Rock,” an evening blending tributes to the past with modernity, under the artistic direction of Karl Lagerfeld (not really a “deal,” but it’s an excuse to talk about high society).
  • A unique exhibition, Monacopolis at the New National Museum of Monaco (NMNM), which will retrace the various stages of Monte-Carlo’s urbanization and expansion with 600 historical plans, mostly from the Monte-Carlo SBM archives.
  • July 5, 6, and 7, 2013: an “Exceptional Weekend” where Monte-Carlo SBM establishments will offer special deals and surprises themed around Well-being, Gastronomy, Nightlife, Performing Arts, Culture, Sport, and more. This weekend will also mark the opening of the summer artistic season.
  • An exceptional concert on July 5, 2013, featuring the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra at the Opéra Garnier in Paris.
  • The Monte-Carlo Sporting Summer Festival, starting with Rod Stewart and followed by a plethora of internationally renowned artists throughout the summer.
  • The Casino terraces will host an open-air cinema during the summer of 2013. Every day, they will screen “Monte-Carlo goes to the movies,” a film compiling clips from movies shot in Monte-Carlo.
