Like last year, I’m continuing my theme on free events to enjoy during the Parisian summer, and today it’s all about outdoor film screenings.
This short 3-part guide will hopefully give you all the keys to experiencing an action-packed summer if you are spending some time in the capital this season.
With all these screenings, there’s no reason not to have a great summer, cinematically speaking, since most of these events are free—just a little reminder in case…
The Wanderlust Summer Club
This summer, every Monday, Wanderlust will be screening films outdoors as soon as night falls, all selected by the venue’s team.
It’s a great opportunity to discover cult films, rare movies, and weird gems on a big screen, outdoors, and to enjoy an evening themed around the movie inside the club starting at 8 PM, followed by the open-air screening once darkness falls in the cinema area.

La Chaise et l’Ecran – Outdoor cinema in the 11th arrondissement
From July 11th to August 22nd 2015, the 11th arrondissement Town Hall invites you to attend 3 free outdoor film screenings in the district’s gardens and squares, featuring cinema classics.
Important: you must bring your own chair for each session, otherwise you’ll be stuck watching the movie sitting on the ground!

3 dates on July 11th and 31st, and August 22nd, 2015 (starts between 9 PM and 10 PM)
Free entry subject to availability
In case of bad weather, the session will be cancelled

Ciné quartier 13
In the 13th arrondissement, the Town Hall is offering a program of outdoor cinema screenings every Friday night from July 17th to August 7th, 2015, in different neighborhoods of the arrondissement.
Screenings take place at nightfall and lounge chairs are available on-site under certain conditions.
For this new edition of Ciné Quartier 13, 4 feature films have been selected for summer 2015.

La Villette Outdoor Cinema
From Wednesday, July 22nd to Sunday, August 23rd 2015, you’ll be able to enjoy free screenings at nightfall at the largest open-air cinema in the capital!
This open-air film festival invites you to dive back into your adolescence, with a cycle of 25 evenings dedicated to this theme so dear to filmmakers.
You can choose to settle into deckchairs with blankets available for rent (7 €) for the occasion, or bring your own setup to be comfortably seated.

Cinéma au Clair de lune
The Forum des Images takes up its summer quarters from July 24th to August 9th, 2015 and hosts its Cinéma au Clair de Lune throughout Paris, from Montmartre to Montsouris, from the Place des Fêtes to the Place des Vosges.
On the program: 11 free open-air cinema screenings to see or re-see some of the films, classic or more contemporary, that have used the City of Light as a backdrop.
Screenings at 9:30 PM in several Paris neighborhoods
Free access seating available for some sessions, subject to availability
In case of rain, screenings may be cancelled

Cinéma sous les Etoiles / Chamarande Paradiso
4 evenings in August on Saturdays, August 1st, 8th, 15th, and 22nd, 2015.
- Saturday, August 1st: Ernest & Celestine, 2012 French, Belgian, and Luxembourgian animated film
- Saturday, August 8th: Raining Cats and Frogs, 2003 French animated film
- Saturday, August 15th: Chicken Run, 2000 French, American, and British animated film
- Saturday, August 22nd: 7 short films
Before the screening: from 7 PM to 9 PM, mediators offer the workshop “Pocket films inhabit the castle…” You walk through the rooms of this historic monument, imagining a script based on the works from the HABITER exhibition, then film different sequences with your smartphone to create your own short film!

Les Yvelines font leur cinéma
The Yvelines Departmental Council is also organizing its “Les Yvelines font leur cinéma” festival for its 4th edition from August 20th to 30th, 2015.
On the program, 23 free outdoor cinema screenings, all over the Yvelines department, in both towns and villages.
