The night of October 6 to 7, 2012 is dedicated to contemporary art. This year, the artistic direction is led by Laurent Le Bon, director of the Centre Pompidou-Metz and is organized along the Seine, on a route stretching from the Maison de la Radio in the West (16th arrondissement) to Ivry in the East.
This new Nuit Blanche will be like a stroll along the river that will highlight the city, its architecture, and its very special atmosphere.
A nice new feature, this Nuit Blanche will allow access to fifteen breathtaking viewpoints, to see Paris from above, located along the route and usually closed to the public.
Here are already some high-altitude locations that will allow night owls on October 6 to discover the capital from above:
- the terrace of the Tour Morland, located on the 15th floor of this building (4th arrondissement)
- the Haut Conseil room located on the 9th floor of the Arab World Institute (5th arrondissement)
- the 24th floor of the Tour Zamansky, Pierre and Marie Curie University, on the Jussieu campus (5th arrondissement)
- the 18th floor of the François Mitterrand library (13th arrondissement)
- the 6th floor of the Dominique Perrault Industrial Hotel (13th arrondissement)
The connection between these different places is provided all night long by metro lines 1 and 14, which have become spaces for creativity for the occasion and will be free to access between 2:00 AM and 5:30 AM! More info on transport for this Nuit Blanche right here.
More information on the Nuit Blanche website to best prepare your route. I wish you all an excellent Nuit Blanche!
As an extra, a smartphone application “NB12” should be available for free on the Nuit Blanche website. You will be able to find the entire program and information on this year’s artistic programming to prepare your itinerary.
