Today I have some great news to share: the Séries Mania festival is returning for a 3rd season from April 16 to 22, 2012 at the Forum des Images in Paris.
As a huge series fan, this brand-new festival delighted me for the past two years, and I’ve been impatiently waiting for the dates for this third edition.
For one week, day and night, the Forum des Images invites “series-philes” of all kinds to claim its seats.
On the program: screenings, of course, but also numerous meet-and-greets with actors, directors, and producers.
And just like last year, all screenings are free (subject to availability, of course)! So there’s no reason to miss out.
As for me, I’ve already planned my schedule, and I’m sharing my selection with you…
Regarding the screenings first:
- Episodes 1 and 2 of Game of Thrones season 2 for the festival opening night on Monday, April 16 at 8:30 PM (it’s going to be super hard to delay my binge-watching of the show, which returned at the end of March, to wait to see them on the big screen, but honestly, I think it’ll be worth it).
- Episodes 1 and 2 of Boardwalk Empire season 2 on Tuesday, April 17 at 4:00 PM.
- Episode 1 of Luck season 1 on Tuesday, April 17 at 9:00 PM (even though this show, set in the world of horse racing, won’t be renewed next year, I’m curious to discover Dustin Hoffman as a chilling godfather).
- The complete season 2 of The Walking Dead on Saturday, April 21 from 7:30 PM to 6:45 AM (I already discovered season 1 last year during the festival, and even if I’ve already seen part of this season 2, zombies on the big screen are definitely better!)
Regarding the meet-and-greets next:
- Meeting with Dominic West, actor from “The Hour” and “The Wire” on Thursday, April 19 at 7:00 PM (as a huge The Wire fan, I certainly won’t miss this meeting).
- Conference by Pacôme Thiellement on an episode of Lost on Friday, April 20 at 6:30 PM.
- Conference by Ariane Hudelet-Dubrei on “Title sequences: an art in itself?” on Tuesday, April 17 at 4:30 PM.
- Meeting with Terence Winter, creator of “Boardwalk Empire” on Tuesday, April 17 at 7:00 PM.
Tickets for the screenings have been available since yesterday at the Forum des Images box office. So hurry up and book your seats (2 per person for each screening) if you want to attend the festival!
Edit of April 4, 2012: As I speak, there are unfortunately no more tickets left for the festival opening and the Game of Thrones screening, because I basically grabbed the last tickets last night… sorry. In reality, the tickets were gone from the very first day the box office opened…
