The European Artistic Craft Days 2015

The European Artistic Craft Days have been organized since 2002 by the Ministry of Crafts to highlight professionals in this sector, including ceramicists, marquetry artists, gilders, luthiers, glassblowers, lace makers, art restorers… All eager to share their secrets!

On this occasion, many free events will take place all over France on Friday the 27th, Saturday the 28th, and Sunday the 29th of March 2015.

Several options are available to you, from marked thematic tours to itineraries invented according to your desires and curiosity. It’s up to you to make your choices from an abundant program, featuring craft demonstrations, exceptional open houses at training centers, and fun activities for children.

The exhibition “The Mind and the Hand” at the Galerie des Gobelins: Heritage and expertise of the Mobilier national workshops

The Mobilier national will present an exhibition about its restoration workshops, offering a glimpse behind the scenes of a centuries-old institution, the royal, imperial, and republican Garde-Meuble.

The latter, now known as the Mobilier national (a service of the Ministry of Culture and Communication, Directorate-General for Artistic Creation), provides furniture and, in part, decor for the palaces of the Republic, such as the Élysée Palace, the Hôtel de Matignon, or the Senate, as well as for most ministries.
