I’ll admit it right from the start of this article so things are clear: I don’t like football.
However, or perhaps precisely because of that, I want to enjoy the event and find some positive aspects amidst this football invasion of our daily lives.
In Paris, in particular, there are many events, and bars and restaurants are making the capital buzz with the rhythm of Brazil during the FIFA World Cup, which is taking place in South America until July 13th.
Here is my little selection of events and places to check out to get into the Brazilian spirit during this World Cup (whether you like football or not) and to enjoy the friendly atmosphere that is (hopefully!) about to sweep through everyone’s spirits.
My little selection of spots and tips:
The Frog world in Paris
The Parisian FrogPubs (which I will talk about in more detail in a future article) offer fans of Les Bleus the chance to watch the matches live on HD screens (note that the Frog at Bercy Village is the restaurant with the largest HD screen in Paris!!!).
For those who aren’t fans of the round ball, the city’s FrogBurger restaurants are offering a succulent Rio Burger (€12.50) featuring a very successful blend of bacon and pineapple—it’s a must-try!

Foot and Food at Bar La Fayette
The Bar La Fayette at the Hyatt Regency hotel is showing the matches on its large-screen TV and offers an appetizing and refreshing package (€16) with a seasonal beer and a bruschetta (served on Poilâne bread).

Burger King and its Whopper Fanatic
From June 12th to July 13th, 2014, Burger King and the agency Buzzman are launching the Whopper Fanatic operation for the World Cup. Burger King will give you a free Whopper if you show up wearing your team’s jersey while they are playing!

Brazil at Beaugrenelle
For the Football World Cup, Beaugrenelle is celebrating the event by transporting us to the land of football and samba.
On the program:
Live broadcasts of matches at the Parisian Pub in an English pub atmosphere with fish and chips or a freshly minced Aubrac beef burger (happy hour every day from 6 PM to 8 PM)- L’Occitane is offering a range of Hipanema Sol do Brasil products in partnership with the brand Hipanema
- The Kase is dressing up phones in World Cup colors and launching a big contest, “Football Fever,” where you can make predictions for each match and win up to a million euros in prizes.

The book “Brazil” by Fa Eggres-Personnaz and Jessica Blanc
A book to discover the entire culinary diversity of Brazil. From Africa to the Caribbean, passing through Argentina or the Amazon, Brazilian cuisine has been influenced by rich and flavorful traditions.
The book is divided into 5 chapters, each corresponding to a region, along with historical spotlights and recipes for street food, drinks, barbecue, carnival, and even the feast of St. John.
One of the authors, Fa Personnaz, created Les délices de Fa in 2005, which offers Brazilian catering services (traditional typical dishes, musical atmosphere, and decorations in Brazilian colors).
Price €24.90 – 208 pages

Brazil comes to the table with La Belle Assiette
The World Cup offers us a great opportunity to discover the richness of Brazilian culinary culture.
It’s the ideal occasion to treat yourself to a lovely introductory journey thanks to the private chefs from La Belle Assiette, who will come to your home to prepare typical dishes from this country (yes, I really love to eat, as you’ve probably gathered…).
