Hôtel La Lanterne Paris in the heart of the Latin Quarter

Located at the foot of the Montagne Sainte-Geneviève, just a stone’s throw from the Panthéon, the Seine, Boulevard Saint-Germain, and the Jardin du Luxembourg, Hôtel La Lanterne is a beautiful 4-star establishment nestled in the heart of this historic and intellectual Latin Quarter of Paris.

We had the chance, along with my favorite photographer, to stay there for a short visit last March (just before the lockdown), and the hotel recently reopened its doors at the beginning of July. We loved the intimate feel of this hotel combined with the services and luxury of a high-end address.

The hotel recently expanded after a year and a half of renovations and now offers 42 rooms in total. The decoration of the establishment was entrusted to the design house Les Héritiers. They have created a space that brings together a mix of beautiful fabrics, furniture sourced from antique dealers, and contemporary art.

On the ground floor, there are several small lounges (the Chinese lounge, the 50s-style lounge for reading…) that I found very charming, each with a very different atmosphere and decor.

Finally, at the heart of the hotel lies a very charming small inner courtyard, and several suites overlook this quieter part of the establishment.

Our “classic” room

Inside the rooms, we found custom-made fabrics and hand-painted antique engravings, a double bed with very high-quality bedding, and a bathroom with a shower.

Breakfast

This can be enjoyed in your room or on the ground floor around the bar, which allows for a bit more choice in terms of products.

The Wellness Area

A very important feature of the hotel is its spa and swimming pool, installed in the basement under magnificent vaulted ceilings. We had a very pleasant moment of relaxation there, and what’s more, we were all alone, which is even better!

The pool is kept at 35°C year-round and is open to hotel guests from 8 am to 10 pm. It features counter-current swimming, a hot tub, and hydro-massage jets. As for the spa, there is a hammam lined with silver mosaics, a sensory shower, and a fitness area with Technogym equipment and interactive Z’fitness classes.
