This year, it is this weekend, Saturday, May 11th and Sunday, May 12th, that the 7th edition of the All to the Opera event will take place as part of the European Opera Days.
For the occasion, opera houses in France and Europe are opening their doors for free to curious visitors, offering a chance to discover lyrical art, the behind-the-scenes of the profession, meet the artists, and attend numerous performances and rehearsals.
Mademoiselle Bon Plan’s little selection:
- Athénée Théâtre Louis-Jouvet in Paris: public rehearsal of Richard Strauss’s Ariadne auf Naxos, preceded by a brunch starting at 12:30 PM on-site at the Mio Padre bar
- Opéra Comique in Paris: scenic rehearsal of the new production of the comic opera “Mârouf, savetier du Caire” by Henri Rabaud
- Opéra national de Lyon: Tour of the building and various workshops for children (as for me, I’ll be in Lyon this weekend, so I think that’s the one I’ll visit :p)
You can find the complete program of events in the 25 opera houses in France participating in this occasion right here, so take a look at what’s happening near you on the website: http://www.tous-a-lopera.fr
