This weekend, Saturday, May 12 and Sunday, May 13, 2012, marks the 6th edition of the “Tous à l’Opéra” event as part of the European Opera Days.
For the occasion, opera houses across France and Europe are opening their doors for free to the curious, offering a chance to discover lyrical art, see what goes on behind the scenes, meet the artists, and attend numerous performances and rehearsals.
Mademoiselle Bon Plan’s little selection in Paris:
- the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées is hosting activities all day on Sunday, May 13 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, including meet-and-greets and concerts.
- the Opéra Garnier is opening its doors to the public on Saturday, May 12 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- the Opéra Bastille is offering free guided tours (by reservation) on Saturday, May 12 and Sunday, May 13.
- the Opéra Comique is hosting tours and workshops on Saturday, May 12 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
- the Athénée Théatre Louis-Jouvet is opening its doors on Saturday, May 12 from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM and will host a recital at 8:00 PM by Julie Fuchs, the godmother of this 6th edition of Tous à l’Opéra!
