Here is my new little selection of fitness, sport, and well-being tips in Paris and the Ile-de-France region, but not only…

The vertical and charity race of the Maison de la Radio
Radio France
and the NGO PL4Y International are launching Vertigo for the second time at the Maison de la Radio, on Sunday, September 25 starting at 10 am.

The principle of this vertical and charity race: climb 365 steps, 22 floors, and 70 meters high in a minimum amount of time in a unique Parisian location, the Central Tower of Radio France.
Goal: collect as many donations as possible to combine verticality and solidarity!
Accessible to everyone, among friends or colleagues, beginner runners or confirmed athletes, companies or individuals, everyone can compete in this extraordinary event combining self-transcendence and generosity.

Each runner wishing to participate reaches out to their circle to gather the necessary funds to finance their race bib. The goal: collect 365 € per person, like the number of steps to climb (minimum mandatory collection: 22 € like the number of floors!)
The entire cost of registrations will be donated to educational projects led by PL4Y International, which develops sport-based support programs for thousands of children in France and abroad. The funds collected will thus allow thousands of children to learn and grow while having fun.

A free sports village open to all (10am-6pm) with sports and musical activities will also be deployed in front of the Maison de la Radio: boxing, fencing, badminton, squash, climbing, and many other surprises..
The Maison de la Radio Vertical Race Sunday, September 25, 2016 from 10am to 6pm Information and registration right here

Pole, Cryotherapy Institute
This new-style institute is located in the Louvre district and offers treatments focused on cryotherapy.
I had already heard a bit about this concept when I visited the high-level athletes’ center with Weleda, but at the time, being the chilly person I am, I didn’t really dare to test it… This method is indeed used for a long time by high-level athletes for muscle recovery.
The Institute has 2 latest generation Cryosense cabins and a treatment room upstairs equipped with a Cryo21 machine (localized slimming technique).

For my part, I tested the leather-padded Cryosense cabin. You stand in it in your underwear and your head remains outside the machine. In the first seconds, you feel a pleasant heat of 80°C to relax the muscles. Then, the cold gradually circulates from top to bottom, at a low temperature reaching up to -196°C (it seems very impressive like that but I survived, so I am certain that everyone can do it given my low resistance to cold).
You stay inside for only 3 minutes while making small rotations so as not to let your body stiffen. Okay, I survived, but let’s not lie, I was cold, but in a bearable way.

During the session, our body releases endorphins generated by the reaction to the cold which stimulate the immune system. When I came out, I felt good and relaxed, and indeed, the following night I really slept very well.
The benefits:
- muscle relaxant,
- helps you sleep well,
- stress-relieving,
- anti-inflammatory action.
Price: Whole body cryo 50 € per session / Package of 10 sessions purchased 2 free / Package of 20 sessions purchased 5 free

Aqua By, high-end aquabiking center
The principle of aquabiking is simple: you pedal on a bike submerged in a pool, you expend energy, and you work all parts of your body while having a good time.
The class I tested at Aqua By was led by a super motivated and above all motivating coach without being too authoritarian, which personally I don’t really appreciate in this kind of exercise. Cherry on the cake, the sessions are done to music and in a good mood.

The little extra: after the session, you have free access to the establishment’s sauna to relax and recover from your effort.

My advice: remember to bring your water bottle because you will need to hydrate (no, being submerged in water is not enough…).
Info: a session lasts 45 minutes and is done in a small group
Price: White subscription with 4 sessions per month at 79 € per month / Blue subscription with 6 sessions per month at 99 € per month / Black subscription with unlimited sessions at 149 € per month
The good tip: if you want to test the concept before you start, the first session is half price at 17.50 €

Aqua By 82, rue Notre Dame de Nazareth 75003 Paris open from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 10 pm and Saturday & Sunday from 10 am to 7 pm
