I have to admit that usually, I only eat raclette when I’m in the mountains. First of all, because I don’t have a raclette machine at home, and also because I never really found a good spot for it in Paris…
But that was before I tried out the raclette nights with my favorite photographer at Le Buffet de la Gare, a restaurant located (as its name suggests) not far from the Gare de l’Est.

The venue offers this all-you-can-eat raclette every evening (during the winter season, it goes without saying) for all lovers of this alpine classic!
On the menu for the all-you-can-eat raclette:
- a fine selection of artisanal cheeses: Franc-Comtois Morbier, smoked raclette (to die for!), pepper-crusted, or classic
- a choice of quality cured meats (cooked ham and Serrano, coppa, chorizo, dried beef…)
- potatoes, obviously

So, you choose which cheese you want to start your feast with, and it begins to melt slowly under the heat of the traditional raclette machines. And as long as you’re hungry, you keep eating! Perfect for big eaters or people who haven’t been fed in a few days… For my part, I obviously got full quite quickly, but my small stomach just wasn’t up for the challenge (even the favorite photographer gave up, that tells you something!).
What I really appreciated about this set menu is the quality of the products (cheeses and meats) offered. And the icing on the cake, the service is friendly and very warm!

A little extra: for vegetarians, it is also possible to enjoy the raclette with vegetable pickles, marinated carrots, and an assortment of raw vegetables.

Thanks to Le Buffet de la Gare for this invitation.
