Last November, my favorite photographer and I discovered the new restaurant and bar nestled inside the 4-star Hôtel Royal Madeleine, which was recently fully renovated, in the heart of the Madeleine district in the 8th arrondissement of Paris.
The venue is perfect for a lunch break or a trendy afterwork drink, especially since the establishment features several areas with very different atmospheres, all designed with great taste.

Le Restaurant Royal
The restaurant menu, curated by Anne Ly, plays with bistro codes, featuring traditional French culinary classics alongside trendier, healthier dishes like avocado toast or poke bowls.

The restaurant offers 3 dining atmospheres:
- the winter garden under fruit trees for a cozy lunch (this is the spot we chose, as you can see in the photo above)
- the counter for a quick lunch
- the Passage Puteaux terrace for sunny days
Must-try:
- The Lozère knife-cut sausage with homemade mashed potatoes and a mustard jus (€14), for those wanting a comforting, simple dish made with quality ingredients.

- For a healthier option, I tested the Thai sea bream fillet with a wok of crunchy vegetables, lemongrass ginger, peanuts, and cilantro (€16).

- For dessert, I recommend the pineapple carpaccio (€8) with its lime and candied ginger sorbet, which is super fresh and a lovely light way to finish a meal, or for a much more indulgent version, the molten chocolate heart with roasted hazelnuts (€7).

Wines by the glass to accompany your meal: between €5 and €7

Le Royal au Bar
The menu at Le Royal au Bar was entrusted to the expert team behind several Parisian bars, the RPR (Charonne), Pile ou Face, and Mini-Pong (Pigalle). The bar is clearly distinct from the rest of the hotel and even has its own entrance facing Rue de l’Arcade. It also features several nooks with very different atmospheres.

Cocktails to try: refreshing long drinks like the Gin Basil Smash or the Alain Souchong, timeless classics like the Gin Tonic and Moscow Mule, or a revisit of classics with the Amer Picon or the Unusual Negroni.

The little extra: you can pair your cocktails with tapas for finger food, which is always very pleasant, such as nachos & guacamole (€9).

Cocktail prices: between €10 and €12
Bar open daily from 5:00 PM to 1:00 AM_
Thanks to the Hôtel Royal Madeleine for the invitation.
