Christmas is almost here, and as you may have noticed, I’ve been posting a lot on this topic. Today, I’m going to make your mouth water (I hope…) with my selection of Christmas logs to happily wrap up your festive meal. Searching for the perfect Christmas log is a bit like hesitating between Ladurée and Pierre Hermé macarons; it’s a matter of taste. Anyway, here is my little (obviously non-exhaustive) selection of Christmas desserts that I would love to see on my Christmas table or at New Year’s Eve…

This year, Nicolas Cloiseau has imagined a log as a tribute to the City of Light through the Opéra Garnier. A dome on the rooftops of Paris, a room in red and gold—a décor designed for wonder. The Opéra Garnier inspires, as does its dome. This year, it becomes a dessert with a subtly spiced Vanuatu chocolate mousse, a vibrant tangerine confit, a melting nougat with roasted dried fruit bits, and puffed rice for lightness and crunch. In addition to this signature log, the house also offers 3 timeless chocolate logs available every year: Caracas, Marajuca, and Figaro.

The 2025 theme for the chocolatier is “Res Rêves et des Fèves” (Dreams and Cocoa Beans), which for Jean-Paul Hévin could be the theme of his entire career as a chocolatier, centered on his passion for cocoa and rare beans. The logs: Récré log with a caramelized hazelnut crunch, dark chocolate biscuit, caramel vanilla cream, and 70% Grand Cru Cameroon dark chocolate mousse (6-8 people, €67); Quatre Saisons log with a crispy almond duja, cocoa sponge biscuit, Sansho berry crème brûlée, and 70% Grand Cru Cameroon dark chocolate mousse (6-8 people, €67); the Nkolossang log with a crunchy anise gianduja shortbread, almond paste cocoa biscuit, and 70% Grand Cru Cameroon dark chocolate mousse (6 people, €58); the “Rennes” ice cream log with a chestnut biscuit, lime sorbet, chestnut parfait, and chestnut paste (6 people, €39).

For the 2025 year-end holidays, Chef Guy Martin has created two unique and delicious Christmas logs for the Grand Véfour. My favorite photographer went to test these two logs that I am presenting to you below.

The 2025 “Winter Symphony” log for the Grand Véfour
For the Grand Véfour, Chef Guy Martin offers a Christmas log that celebrates the delicate harmony between the freshness of pear, the sweetness of milk chocolate, and the subtlety of vanilla. On the menu: pear mousse flavored with vanilla and lemon zest, milk chocolate and vanilla mousse, cocoa sponge, dark glaze, all resting on a thin, crispy sweet pastry crust.

At Home by Yazid Ichemrahen
Star chef Yazid Ichemrahen (2 million Instagram followers) has opened a secret address in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, At Home, where he welcomes his customers as if it were his own home. My favorite photographer went there to test his log creations for the holidays.
The 2025 logs
The chef is offering 2 exceptional creation logs for the 2025 holidays:
- La Rouge Pantone 194: with a Piedmont hazelnut paste, a gluten-free brownie biscuit, a creamy mixture of three vanillas (India, Tahiti, Madagascar) and tangy cherry confit from Maison Fabri, as well as a 62% Venezuela dark chocolate mousse.
- Voile de lait Mandarine (Mandarin Milk Veil): with a Japanese Indonesian vanilla biscuit, wild Sicilian mandarin and yuzu confit, vanilla and white chocolate cream, organic mandarin pieces from Maison Colom, and a milk veil infused with tonka bean.

La Maison Elysée
Born from the desire to open the doors of the Palace to all those who wish to discover the Presidency of the Republic, the Maison Élysée invites French people and visitors from all over the world to step behind the scenes of the Élysée, an institution steeped in history and a witness to traditional craftsmanship. This venue, acting as a museum, café, and boutique, located opposite the Palace, aims to showcase French excellence.

The 2025 log
This Christmas log is adorned with a drawing of the monumental porch of the Élysée Palace (which dates back to 1853 and is the work of architect Joseph-Eugène Lacroix) and was specially created by the head of the Republic’s presidential kitchen and his team of pastry chefs. Under a milk jam glaze, there is a chocolate cream, a vanilla caramel insert, all on a crispy fleur de sel chocolate biscuit.

The 2025 Yseult pavlova log
In 2025, the Meringaie pavlova celebrates its 10th anniversary, and for the occasion, the theme is very festive, starring the calamansi, a small green and orange citrus fruit whose fragrance lies between lemon and tangerine.

We had the chance to discover in Paris the 2025 log from Chef Adrien Salavert, pastry chef of the Michelin-starred restaurant Les Belles Perdrix at Château Troplong Mondot, in Saint-Émilion.

The “letter to Santa” log
The pastry chef’s log is once again a trompe-l’œil. This dessert takes the shape of the bird feather emblem of the Les Belles Perdrix restaurant and comes with an inkwell containing wine from Château Troplong Mondot, which will reveal a secret message signed by Santa Claus. This dessert, inspired by one of the menu items at the restaurant, consists of a vanilla mousse and a caramel passion heart, with notes blending acidity, freshness, and lightness. A Jerusalem artichoke crunch, with gourmet aromas, completes this log.

Christophe Adam’s 2025 logs are just magnificent, around the theme of the Malmö teddy bear (Malmö luge, Malmö sleigh, or even Malmö nap). Like every year, the chef of this wonderful house, Hugues Pouget, offers us delicious logs (without coloring or artificial flavors) that we had the chance to discover in mini-log versions: the chocolate log, the exotic log (coconut dacquoise, pineapple compote, and passion fruit cream, coconut mousse, and white chocolate glaze), and the lemon verbena log (lemon Genoese biscuit, lemon-verbena cream, yellow lemon marmalade insert, and yellow lemon whipped cream).
