While strolling along Rue Mouffetard, I had noticed this little tea room and was waiting for an opportunity to check it out! The perfect chance to discover L’Autre Thé arrived earlier this year when two friends now living in Geneva were visiting the capital.
L’Autre Thé is a tea house that has been around since 2007, and it is a brand that takes an alternative approach to tea by favoring teas and ingredients sourced from organic farming and fair trade.
There are several great things about this little tea room. First of all, the place is quite charming, cozy, and relatively quiet. Secondly, the quality of the teas offered is excellent (a selection of single-origin teas and scented creations), and above all, their preparation is quite exemplary.

They bring you your teapot along with an hourglass, which allows you to avoid over-steeping to get the perfect brew (adapted according to the types of tea, of course).
You can also enjoy homemade pastries to accompany your tea. The day we visited, I grabbed the last matcha tea and white chocolate muffin, and I really didn’t regret it; it was delicious!
For a little extra info, there are 3 shops and tea bars under this brand in Paris: one in the 5th (the one I just introduced to you on Rue Mouffetard), one in the 11th, and one in the 14th arrondissement.
