My favorite gourmet addresses for a Christmas tea time

That’s it, we’ve just reached the middle of this month of December and the holiday season is approaching very quickly. This moment is always an opportunity to find lots of great deals, and I already have quite a few articles under my belt on this subject. Today, I am continuing by offering you a small selection of gourmet addresses to whet your appetite in a very festive spirit. On the agenda: a few hotels and their “afternoon tea” or “tea time” services, and a pop-up cabin for eating oysters.

For the 2025 holiday season, The Hoxton hotel is offering a gourmet collaboration with the Bordeaux-born brand, Pépite Cookie. On the menu: the “Crunchy Hazelnut Heart” cookie, an original creation thought up especially to celebrate the magic of the holiday season (sold for €4.50 on site) and also available in a cookie + hot chocolate combo (to be consumed on site – €9).

Cocooning and hushed atmosphere in the cozy Empire-style den of L’Hotel to enjoy its Christmas afternoon tea, a tea time moment centered around the magic of the holiday atmosphere. On the program: a selection of quality teas and small cakes crafted by the establishment’s pastry chef Joana Thöny Montbabut. For the teas, I opted for a green tea scented with chestnut, and my favorite photographer tried a Ceylon Uva, highly recommended to accompany an afternoon tea. The hotel’s very intimate and classy setting is perfectly suited for a tea moment as a couple or with friends.

To taste:

  • An assortment of sandwiches (cucumber and mint, poultry finger sandwiches with savora, smoked salmon and dill shuttle, savory herb and cheese cake), scones with homemade cream and jam, a chocolate truffle, a snowflake star, a mini yule log, a Christmas tree with a Mont-Blanc flavor, a gingerbread man,…
  • As for drinks, you can accompany the afternoon tea with very fine teas from the Japanese house Lupicia (which has its only boutique in Europe located just a few steps from the Hotel) or with a homemade hot chocolate.

To conclude this article, I propose to take you for tea at the Buddha-Bar Hotel Paris, transformed during these holiday periods into an enchanted forest. This little moment over a cup of tea and a cake was also an opportunity for me to step into this 5-star hotel for the second time.

This historic residence, a former 18th-century private mansion now transformed into a hotel establishment, is located in the Faubourg Saint-Honoré district. Its decor offers, in the heart of the capital, a journey to Asia and China, particularly with the dragon motif, strongly present in the hotel, which is the emblem of the Buddha-Bar Hotel. The general atmosphere of the place gives the impression of being in 1930s Shanghai. The establishment’s tea time is served in the hotel’s lounge bar, Le Qu4tre. Honestly, this tea time is a real success and a real great deal, because in terms of quantity and quality, you really get your money’s worth! Don’t hesitate to go and enjoy it before the end of March.

Our choice of cakes:

  • The melting caramel, peanut, and vanilla biscuit
  • The creamy chocolate, black sesame, and orange entremet
  • The coffee millefeuille with miso-vanilla caramel
  • The citron and yuzu yule log

Price: €28 / person for 1 hot or cold drink (Palais des Thés tea, hot chocolate, coffee, fruit juice, or soda) + 1 savory trio (Christmas spiced cake and foie gras, mini chicken and black truffle burger, smoked salmon with green shizo cream and caviar lemon) + 1 sweet duo from the pastry chef (to choose from 5 pastries).
