I think I had spotted this new address in A Nous Paris, so when Angie suggested we go for brunch there on a Saturday afternoon, I was obviously on board.
First impression of this Chambre aux oiseaux: the place is cozy with a little retro vibe, and being near the Canal Saint-Martin adds quite a lot of charm to the spot.
Inside, it’s quite small, so once again, as with many other brunch spots, I strongly advise you to book ahead before you go.
The atmosphere is relaxed, the service is very friendly, and the walls are covered in so-British style wallpaper with large flowers in shades of pink. It feels a bit like grandma’s bric-a-brac.
On the menu for the brunch set menu at €18:
a hot drink (to vary from the usual brunches, I suggest you try “Hélène’s hot lemon“, with ginger and honey, perfect if you had a rough night the night before)- a fruit juice
- a variety of special breads (toast, muffin, brioche) with salted or unsalted butter
- homemade jams
- a cheese and charcuterie plate with the scrambled eggs of the day, served with a savory cake or thin tart (the day we went, it was a slice of homemade lasagna) and its small seasonal salad
- a dessert of the day (tiramisu mousse for me) or Greek yogurt with honey.
La Chambre aux Oiseaux 48 rue bichat / 75010 Paris Brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm Booking highly recommended for brunch
