Sorella is a small Italian restaurant located in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, near the Victor Hugo metro station, serving no-fuss Italian cuisine made with quality products from the best Italian suppliers. We went to test it with my favorite photographer shortly before the lockdown began.
the restaurant also has a grocery section featuring a selection of the same famous Italian products found on their plates (mozzarella, tomato sauce, Roman-style artichokes, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, olives, amaretto…).
Regarding the decor, we loved the simplicity of the place and its different rooms, which create smaller, more intimate nooks. I must also mention that we were charmed by the establishment’s playlist, which featured trendy electro music that we really enjoyed.
As for the restaurant, the plates feature very good thin-crust pizzas, as well as delicious, perfectly seasoned pasta. In addition to this, for appetizers, you can choose from high-quality Italian products in the form of antipasti, and a selection of dolci to finish your meal on a sweet note.
Must-try:
- To start, we shared an Antipasti Burrata (21 €) with an assortment of grilled vegetables, arugula, and a Puglian burrata mozzarella.
- For pizza, we took our server’s advice and opted for the Stagione (15 €) with San Marzano tomato sauce, mozzarella, ham, artichoke, mushrooms, and Taggiasca olives.
- For pasta, the Fusilli tartufo (19 €) were our favorite part of the meal; the black truffle cream was simply divine. My mouth waters just thinking about it…
- For dessert, the tiramisu della casa (9 €) was perfectly fine, and even more than that… I actually shared it with my favorite photographer and I kind of regretted not having one all to myself…
For wines, the restaurant offers a very interesting selection of Italian wines (wines by the glass between €6 and €9) from several regions of the country.
