After almost a year of intensive “brunching” on weekends, I can’t claim to be an expert, but at the very least, I know what I’m looking for and what I avoid.
I avoid impersonal and overly noisy places, without human warmth, where social connection always seems superficial and fake.
I look for places with a cozy, welcoming, friendly, warm atmosphere that gives off a certain charm. Of course, I also want the quality of what’s on my plate to be there, and all these criteria turn this search into a real treasure hunt.
Last Sunday was a great find with Café Madam.
First of all, the place is small (and I notice that this is often the case with the brunches I like), the decor is simple and designed with lots of wood (but it’s not cold for all that), and the products are fresh and homemade, just the way I like them.

Menu and details of the 3 brunches offered by Café Madam:
- Brunch I for €14
- Brunch II for €17
- Brunch III for €19
In short, nothing but good things for this rue Saint-Denis brunch that I recommend if you are looking for more or less the same kind of place as me.
Small tip: no reservations for this brunch, it’s the only downside I would find, so if you want to get a seat, I advise you to arrive before 12:30 PM.
Café Madam 150 Rue Saint-Denis, 75002 Paris
