La Plantxa Restaurant in Boulogne-Billancourt

Sometimes you stumble upon (or you get invited and shown, okay, finding it all by yourself is quite a feat) one of those secret and fabulous addresses that you only share with people you truly appreciate. You are lucky, that’s what I think of you, my dear readers, and so I am very happy to share my new gourmet discovery with you today.

In this specific case, we should rather talk about bistronomy, as aptly stated by Juan Arbelaez, the young Colombian chef of La Plantxa restaurant in Boulogne-Billancourt.

Just hearing the name Boulogne-Billancourt, I can hear some people sighing, saying it’s too far, crossing all of Paris to go to a restaurant… well, yes, precisely, you have to make the trip to discover this address; it must be earned, but the reward on your plate is well worth the effort. It is precisely on the plate that the explosion of the senses happens.

The plates at La Plantxa are both graphic and colorful, and in terms of flavors, the pairings are subtle and bold, centered around fresh and vegetal notes.

In terms of quantities, we lean more towards the gourmet side, so I advise big appetites to order a starter, main course, and dessert to be fully satisfied.

The creativity of Juan Arbelaez, who is an incorrigible free spirit, is served in a street art setting that is both trendy and casual. Since he loves novelties, there is never a fixed menu, and he changes his dishes based on the seasonality of the products and his current desires.

In short, you feel right at home at Juan Arbelaez‘s place and you only have one wish: to come back very soon!
