Not long ago, I was invited to discover a wonderful culinary spot in the Opéra Garnier district of Paris. Opened in December 2013, Arty is a modern, trendy, and friendly restaurant, with decor reminiscent of New York lofts and workshops.
The owners had the great idea of keeping the original materials—exposed brick, steel structures, and raw wooden beams—while adding wall decor consisting of photos and solid or patterned wallpapers that give the whole place a lovely sense of originality.
The welcome is extremely warm, and the service is impeccable and cheerful. As for the cuisine, the chef offers fresh, quality products on his weekly menu, including classic or original burgers, exceptional breed meats, and fish dishes.
The dishes are truly generous, and I dare you to still be hungry when leaving Arty. For dessert, nothing beats a cheesecake or a molten chocolate or caramel cake to finish the meal on a sweet note. As an accompaniment, the establishment offers a great selection of wines from independent producers or more well-known estates.
A little extra: I haven’t had the opportunity to try it yet, but starting at 6 PM, Jordan, the Head Barman, offers his cocktails, with or without alcohol.
To see the review by Parisian Touch, who shared this good meal with me, it’s just here.
Updated March 31, 2019:
Since last year, the establishment has opened a very private space hidden under the loft of the Arty restaurant, dedicated to the world of the best American TV series, titled Arty Season 2.
As a series fan, I obviously really appreciated the numerous references to TV shows, from the names of the burgers (GOT, Viking, or Narcos) or cocktails (Draper or Eleven), to the room’s decor.
