It was to discover their Sunday brunch that I visited La Mangerie one Sunday this beautiful month of June. It is a very lovely restaurant located in the heart of the Marais.
By himself, for his colorful personality, Serge, the owner of the premises, is well worth a detour to this charming and friendly address in the 4th arrondissement.
In fact, as soon as I arrived, and seeing my barely-awake expression (you might say that’s normal for a Sunday morning!), Serge immediately offered me (and everyone else, for that matter) a little glass of homemade rum to get things started… It was off to a good start…
The venue, which has existed for 4 years, has just expanded and now offers a new room with 30 additional seats to host its Family Brunch, connected to the rest of the restaurant by a secret passage hidden in a wardrobe—simply magical!
As for the plate, it’s fresh, generous, homemade cuisine made with good products (bread from Thierry Breton, daily fresh vegetables provided by Halle Prestige…).
On the menu: scrambled eggs, salad, beans and baby potatoes, olive bread, tapenade, hummus or jam, pancakes, vanilla fromage blanc granola, English muffins, Parisian brioche, chocolate cake, and fruit salad, accompanied by fresh fruit juices and hot drinks.
My verdict: a very hearty brunch (so if you have big eaters among your acquaintances, no worries) and with homemade products—you can really taste it. And the icing on the cake, the decor, curated by Serge, has a crazy amount of charm and gives the place a cozy and relaxed vibe.
The tip: the brunch is served only on Sundays and offers a great service for families, since the little ones can be looked after in the basement of the restaurant by a nanny who is entirely dedicated to them, so they can enjoy games and activities while their parents calmly enjoy their brunch.
Brunch price: €27 for adults / €7 for children aged 2 to 10
For your information, apart from the brunch, you can come to La Mangerie to enjoy tapas, platters of fine charcuterie, or even a cheeseburger for the big eaters.
