My favorite spots for brunch on a terrace

Published: Updated:

I often talk about brunch on the blog, as it’s an activity I’ve been enjoying for years in Paris, and I actually have several articles on this subject. In this article, the idea is to give you a selection of addresses I’ve tested over the last few years in Paris, which will give you some ideas for brunching on a terrace this summer, hopefully, to take advantage of the pleasant temperatures (outside of heatwave weather, of course…). As a result, there will be quite different types of places, and as always, I will regularly update this article with my new tests.

This address is perfect if you are looking for a Sunday brunch in a secret and quiet place, sheltered from the noise and hustle of the capital. This secret, green patio is nestled in the heart of the 5-star hotel Sofitel Paris Le Faubourg. It is offered every Sunday by the hotel’s restaurant, Maison Blossom, and its chef Christophe Chottin. It features a very gourmet brunch menu (with all the brunch classics) that we found hard to finish because it is also very generous! And if the sun is out, you can enjoy it in the restaurant’s magnificent courtyard, which adds an extra touch to the experience.

This green bubble hides in the 15th arrondissement of Paris, not far from the Eiffel Tower. It’s the ideal spot for a countryside brunch, but without leaving Paris! Actually, this little corner of paradise is part of the Mercure Tour Eiffel hotel, but you really have to go inside the establishment (to go to the restrooms, for example) to realize it. Otherwise, you’d think you were in a friend’s garden in the countryside… On the agenda for this brunch, good local and seasonal products, sourced from Ile-de-France producers. My favorite photographer and I really appreciated the variety of this brunch, which I think satisfies everyone because there’s something for every taste! A part of the brunch is offered as a buffet inside, and outside we find some hot dishes prepared “barbecue” style.

At the back of the garden, we also find a small area to play petanque and a foosball table (which some people hogged for quite a while…), which allows you to pass the time quietly, to the point that we must have finished our brunch around 4 p.m. I think, because we were so comfortable (and so we didn’t want to leave, as you can imagine). For me, it is the ideal address for a brunch with friends or family in the sun. That day, it was a brunch for us with the Parisian blogosphere family, and it was truly an unforgettable moment!

Once again (pure coincidence) I am offering you the brunch of a Mercure hotel, but this time at the foot of the Montmartre district: the Hôtel Mercure Paris Montmartre Sacré-Coeur. I didn’t know this hotel, but I found it quite nice. To reach the brunch location, you have to go up to the 1st floor to the hotel’s breakfast room, which offers some nice corners with quite different atmospheres and especially a pretty hidden terrace, out of sight from prying eyes and which even has its own little urban vegetable garden!

On the menu for this brunch is a well-stocked buffet (all-you-can-eat) served inside, with pastries, fruits, cold cuts, cheeses, salmon, pancakes, cakes… We had a very good time with my friend Julie, and even though the weather was a bit gray, we really enjoyed the establishment’s pleasant terrace.

The great plus for the summer: the beautiful sunny terrace for the nice days

Maison Blanche is a place I have already mentioned several times on the blog, especially because the place has two magnificent terraces for the nice days. This Parisian institution, located in the heart of the Golden Triangle, is also right next to the Théâtre des Champs‐Elysées, a cultural place that I like very much.

Since last year, the establishment has been offering a Sunday brunch called Maison Brunch. On the menu, a gourmet brunch served in grandmother-style tableware, consisting of a hot drink, a freshly squeezed fruit juice, an assortment of breads and pastries, a main course, and a dessert, all accompanied by a glass of champagne, a mimosa for true brunch lovers, or a detox juice for the more reasonable ones! As for the main courses, chef Fabrice Giraud invites you to discover his Eggs Benedict with salmon, the M. Burger with its homemade fries, or even his Maison Blanche croque-monsieur with truffle. On the sweet side, I highly recommend the lemon meringue pie, which is famous.
