Café la Perle, an artsy institution in the Marais that I admit I had never tested before (yes, there are actually still plenty of Parisian addresses I don’t know :p), has set up shop in a pocket format at the Parisian Omnivore District (POD), the new food court at BHV Marais.
To put it briefly, the Parisian Omnivore District offers in the courtyard (covered, I assure you) of the BHV Marais Homme, a sort of food market with several corners from different brands that offer take-away meals throughout the day.

The idea is simple: you order dishes and drinks from one or more stands of your choice, and then you take your haul to the center of the POD to sit at the tables provided for this purpose. A friendly and relaxed atmosphere is guaranteed!
This concept is therefore ideal for a brunch, and this applies all day long, from Monday to Sunday, from 11 am to 8 pm.

The only catch is that you really need to grab a seat next to one of the heaters, otherwise those of us who get cold easily, like me, will quickly start shivering… In short, I advise you to dress warmly when you go!
As for us, we tasted (this time around) exclusively products from the Café La Perle stand to put together a little brunch à la carte.

To try:
- The coffees and coffee-based drinks are excellent as the coffee is organic and comes from the 2016 Best Roaster in France, Patrick Moshtael. For our part, we had a latte (€4.50) and a noisette (€3.50).

- The avocado toast with a soft-boiled egg and Espelette pepper (€9.50) is delicious.

- Since I’m a fan, we also tested the “princess” croque with a sunny-side-up egg on top of the croque (€9).

- For dessert, the homemade French toast called “Solange” with seasonal fruits and maple syrup (€9) is also really very nice!

- The freshly squeezed juices are also delicious, and we particularly enjoyed the organic freshly squeezed oranges (€4.50), which I recommend if you like that.
Thanks to Café La Perle for this invitation.
