Coffee Club, a little taste of America in Paris

The Coffee Club is a restaurant made in the USA (you know I love this theme because I actually wrote an article featuring a selection of great spots of this type), with a friendly and family atmosphere that offers ultra-indulgent American cuisine in a cozy and warm setting.

This relaxed address, located very close to the Port-Royal metro station, celebrated its first year of operation last October.

It is the perfect place for an American brunch on the weekend or if you have a craving for well-made burgers and/or bagels!

In the kitchen, you’ll find Carrie Solomon, an American from the Midwest who has been living in Paris for 10 years.

Passionate about gastronomy, the young woman (who has already released a book on the subject: “An American in Paris”), shares with us, for our greatest pleasure, her best family recipes, inherited from her mother, grandmother, and even her great-aunts.

Ultimately, it results in generous, family-style cooking, almost as if you were invited to the table of an American family, and it’s quite lovely!

In terms of decor, you’ll find a very New York-style brick wall and some metal frames that give the whole place a very “Loft in NY” look.

To taste:

  • The super fresh pressed juices (€6) from the Juice Bar. We opted for a Green (cucumber, apple, lemon, and fresh mint) and a Vitality (orange, carrot, apple, and ginger), just to combine the colors and the benefits.

  • For brunch, I chose to test the delicious Organic Eggs, classic style eggs benedict & Hash Brown (€14.50): poached eggs, toasted muffin, bacon, and hollandaise sauce.

  • As for my favorite photographer, he set his sights on testing a burger (obviously!), but a Mexican version (no, we haven’t been completely spellbound since our trip to Mexico…) with the Crispy Mexican Chickenburger (€15).

  • To balance it all out, the Veggie Salad (€14.50) is crunchy and as fresh as can be, with tofu, quinoa, kale, cucumber, black radish, black sesame seeds, and more…

  • For dessert, we caved for the special Weekend recipes with the plate of pancakes (€9), super generous and obviously meant for sharing (unless you’re only eating that, of course)! By the way, I think while we were taking photos, all the kids in the restaurant were drooling (figuratively speaking, of course) over our pancakes. Don’t forget to get a little coffee (American-style Regular or espresso if you like it stronger / €2.50) to accompany your pancakes; I absolutely love that!

My advice: book before you come, especially on weekends, as the place gets packed.

The tip: Happy Hour every day from 6 PM to 8 PM.
