Yes, my friends, autumn is here. But never mind that. When you love going out as much as you and I do, the sun is always present in our agendas.
Speaking of agendas. With a program like the one I am about to offer you, they will be filled up in no time. The new season is rich and it’s only just beginning. So, grab your pens!

Rough Sea at the End of the Day
There are only a few days left to see three charming and yet
talented actresses on the stage of the Essaïon theater.
The story of three young women who decide to go away for a weekend in Normandy. Obviously, who says Normandy, often says rain. And here, of course, it’s a storm that weekend. How will they handle this weekend that starts… badly?
Cathy’s review:
I had the chance to meet these actresses (they actually have a surprise for you that you will see in the October column), and they are super nice, which really comes across on stage. The trio works well together, and I had a great time in their company.

Misa Criolla Concert, Misa De Indios, the “Mass of the Indians”
You know that we really enjoy the Collège des Bernardins on the blog, first for its cutting-edge and original programming and then for this sublime venue with its magical acoustics.
If you have never been there to vibrate to the sound of a concert, you will soon be able to go and listen to one of the first masses written in Spanish 50 years ago, the Misa Criolla by Ariel Ramirez (1921-2010). The creation of the latter caused a real revolution at the time in the understanding of contemporary sacred music.
This “Creole Mass” for soloists, choir, and orchestra is based on the use of rhythms, musical forms, and instruments from the traditional music of Argentina and Bolivia. On the occasion of this 50th anniversary, Luis Rigou and La Chimera offer a revival of this work, which is one of the musical events of the 20th century.
Articulated around the Misa Criolla, the Misa de Indios offers various pieces dating from the colonial period and other contemporary creations, inspired by Andean folklore.

OMOH concert at La Flèche d’or
Collaborators of Julien Doré, in particular, Baptiste Homo and Clément A. develop a pop-electronic sound bathed in deliberately retro keyboards, which I discovered recently with great pleasure.
They are joined on stage by two musicians and the singer Marie-Flore for this second record that they will present as part of the “day one” evenings at La Flèche d’or, and the super good deal is that this concert is free!
They won’t be the only ones on stage that night; we will also be able to see the band Einleit and The George Kaplan Conspiracy.
OMOH Concert Monday, October 12 free upon reservation (first name + last name + seats) by email to: day1.laflechedor@gmail.com doors open at 7:30 PM La Flèche d’or 102 bis rue de Bagnolet 75020 Paris

Kyrie Kristmanson live at the 104
, a Canadian singer with such a singular voice, & the Quatuor Voce, a young French group, deliver an incredible mix of jazz, contemporary music, and… medieval music! A strange blend where you can find traces of Joni Mitchell, Dead Can Dance (of which I have been a fan for a long time), Kronos Quartet, or even Cat Power…
What is interesting is that Kyrie studied the music of the trobairitz, these lesser-known female troubadours, and created, while being inspired by their lyrics, a music that is resolutely modern, turned towards the future and not the past, hence the name of her new album “Modern Ruin.”

Victor
The play takes place in the 50s. Victor gets out of prison and agrees to serve his sentence in place of his friend, a war hero named Marc, out of love for Françoise, who happens to be Marc’s wife… His friend is now a brilliant businessman.
Virile friendship, great love, and burning money will plunge this charismatic trio into an infernal round, orchestrated by Henri Bernstein in this lively and scarred post-war France.
Cathy’s review:
I really liked this play. I noted a sober and polished staging and a very beautiful performance from a trio of actors composed of Grégory Gadebois, Caroline Silhol, and Eric Cantona. It was the first time I saw the latter on stage, and I was not disappointed. It’s a beautiful evening that I recommend to you.
Melle Bon Plan’s review:
A play like the ones we would like to see more of: well-written, well-acted, and it keeps us awake from start to finish. I was particularly charmed by the performances of the 3 main actors, just stunning, and Eric Cantona truly has an impressive stage presence.

Hyacinthe et Rose
Here is a play full of sensitivity that touched me a lot with a François Morel more real than ever. This story is that of his grandparents when he used to spend his school holidays with them. These two loved each other but never stopped bickering. Hyacinthe was a communist and loved to drink. Rose was Catholic and loved to eat…
Cathy’s review:
It is both funny and moving. The actor tells us a simple story but with so much tenderness that we are on the edge of our seats from start to finish. Before being a play, this story comes from a novel written by François Morel himself.
