The second French edition of Disquaire Day (which has existed in the United States since 2008) will be held this weekend on Saturday, April 21, 2012 all across France.
This cultural event, set up by the Calif (Club Action des Labels Indépendants Français), aims to be an activist act in these times of crisis for the record industry, with the desire to promote musical production.
This celebration, or rather this party, will offer the public numerous free activities: record sales, showcases and artist concerts, autograph sessions, and meet-and-greets.
This year, there will be twice as many record stores participating in the operation compared to the first edition, with 170 points of sale including about twenty record stores in Belgium, Switzerland, and Luxembourg.
An event concert will also be held at the Gaîté Lyrique on the evening of Disquaire Day starting at 7:30 PM, featuring established artists: Claire Denamur – Jil is Lucky – Hushpuppies – Krazy Baldhead.
500 invitations have been available for this evening at record stores in the Île-de-France region since April 11, so hurry to get your ticket! Other invitations will also be given away on the Facebook pages of the evening’s artists starting April 16.
