Celebrating Chinese New Year in Paris

According to the Chinese calendar, today, Sunday, February 10th, marks the day the Dragon makes way for the Snake.

It is the perfect opportunity to enjoy the many free events and parades organized by various districts in Paris, as well as in the Ile-de-France region!

For this New Year, the 3rd arrondissement town hall in Paris is organizing numerous events from Monday, February 11th to Saturday, February 16th, 2013: concerts, shows, workshops, and not to mention the traditional parade.

The latter will take place on Sunday, February 10th and will depart at 2 PM following the eye-dotting ceremony of the Dragon on the Place de l’Hôtel de Ville in Paris.

In the 11th arrondissement, meet on Wednesday, February 13th at 5:30 PM, on the square in front of the Town Hall to celebrate the Chinese New Year with a colorful ceremony. The dragon dance and lion dance will follow the New Year’s greetings.

In the 13th arrondissement, the parade will take place on Sunday, February 17th at 1 PM, on Avenue d’Ivry.

In the 20th arrondissement, the 5th edition of the Chinese New Year parade in Belleville will also be held on Sunday, February 17th starting at 11 AM.

Finally, in Noisy-Le-Grand (93), the town hall offers: Chinese crafts exhibitions, lion dance, cooking and calligraphy workshops, film screenings, traditional Asian music, and a costumed parade.
