The back-to-school events at MK2

I may have never told you, but I’m a huge fan of MK2 cinemas. I even changed my unlimited card several years ago, just to follow them when they switched from Gaumont to UGC—that’s how much I like them!

I wanted to share a quick selection of back-to-school offerings from the MK2 group.

  • A Cine-Comic Book meet-up with René Pétillon on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at 8:00 PM, at MK2 Quai de Loire, to celebrate the release of the 15th volume of Jack Palmer by Dargaud editions.

This meet-up/signing session will be followed by a screening of the film To Be or Not to Be by Ernst Lubitsch.

Pricing: €10.70 (standard), €7.90 (students and job seekers), unlimited cards accepted.

  • The greatest operas and ballets return to MK2 cinemas for a new season starting October 5, 2013.

MK2 is renewing the experience from the 2012-2013 season by offering the chance to discover the spectacular new lineup of the Metropolitan Opera of New York and the legendary Bolshoi Ballet of Moscow live and in encore screenings on the big screen, through a selection of ten operas and four brand-new ballets.

This rich program is accessible to everyone at the MK2 Bibliothèque, Quai de Seine, Odéon, Nation, Gambetta, and Hautefeuille cinemas.

For spectators who might have missed the live broadcasts of the MET productions, encore catch-up sessions will be on the schedule at MK2 Quai de Seine and Hautefeuille.

  • The reopening of the Mon Petit MK2 space within MK2 Bibliothèque, which offers artistic and fun workshops for children in a 100m2 area so parents can enjoy their movie with complete peace of mind.

This unique spot, open to young Parisians aged 4 to 10, is currently hosting children around the world of Peter Pan.

The space will now be open every Sunday from 1:00 PM to 6:30 PM and can be booked privately on other days upon request (and during school holidays) for birthday parties and any other tailor-made events for children.

Children are welcomed (prior reservation required) by the educational teams from Filapi into a large modular space, designed by the online concept store SMALLable: on one side, a real miniature cinema; on the other, areas for workshops and games that change based on the activities.
