As every year, this coming March 8th, we will be celebrating International Women’s Day all around the world (well, almost).
To celebrate this event in my own way, I’m sharing my personal selection of great deals I’ve scouted for us women, to ensure we have a truly wonderful day this Friday, March 8, 2019.

For International Women’s Day on March 8th, the Musée du Quai Branly is celebrating many women with strong personalities throughout the month of March! Through three events, we will discover the work of women from all over the world who carry different yet universal messages!

- The Oceania exhibition from March 12 to July 7, 2019, focusing in particular on the tapa textile tradition which, in the Pacific, is largely the responsibility of women and grants them prestige and influence.
- The Before “L’Orient au Féminin” (Women of the Orient) on Friday, March 15th from 7 PM to midnight (free and open access subject to availability).
- The “Ethnology will surprise you!” weekend on March 23rd and 24th (free and open access subject to availability), which for its 4th edition highlights women in the field: anthropologists, archaeologists, artists, travelers, and writers…

A meeting on gender equality in the cultural sector
The Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs of Pays de la Loire and ‘Les Fameuses’ are organizing the first meeting centered on gender equality in the cultural sector on March 7th.
Starting from two key questions about the place of women in decision-making bodies and artistic programming, the conferences, meetings, and feedback sessions will address various critical issues.
This day will also open the 6th edition of the ‘Printemps des Fameuses’, an annual festival for gender equality.

Exhibition “Women and Musical Creation”, Online Sacem Museum
For Women’s Day on March 8th, the online Sacem museum will unveil the 4th part of its exhibition ‘Women in Musical Creation’ on the internet.


Following the sections ‘Women and musical creation from the Middle Ages to the birth of Sacem’, ‘Post-war: the conquerors’, and ‘Beginning of the 20th century: the pioneers of Modernity’, the museum is exhibiting Sweet sixties: from dream to revolution and looks back at those who marked this decade: Françoise Hardy, Barbara, Yvette Horner, and more.

Billiards & women
Billiards is launching a charm offensive on March 9th and 10th to encourage women to discover “women’s billiards” in a French club.
At the initiative of the FFB (French Billiards Federation), on Saturday, March 9, 2019, demonstrations and initiations will be organized in all Decathlon stores partnering with the operation in France. Then, on Sunday, March 10th, enthusiastic participants will be able to continue the experience in the clubs referenced for the occasion, for free. Coaches will be present to support them and share their passion as well as the many values and virtues of the discipline.

Digital Women’s Day x UNESCO
For March 8th, International Women’s Day, the exhibition “Remarkable Women in Technology” can be seen until April 8th in front of the UNESCO headquarters and until April 17th at the Maison de la Radio. It highlights the achievements of remarkable digital women and pays tribute to the winners of the Margaret Prize, who inspire all women and girls to take the leap: Celine Bardet, We Are Not Weapons of War, Joséphine Goube, Techfugees, Roxanne Varza, Station F.
