As every year, this coming March 8th, we will celebrate International Women’s Rights Day all over the world (well, almost). To celebrate this event in my own way, I am offering you my small selection of tips that I have found, for us women, to help us have a truly wonderful, educational, and fruitful day this Tuesday, March 8, 2022.

Engaged and feminist plays for March 8th at the Théâtre du Funambule Montmartre

On the occasion of March 8th, the team at Funambule Montmartre has concocted a selection of engaged and feminist plays, because a theater piece is sometimes worth more than a long speech about the patriarchy and we really need to laugh while striking a blow against sexism!

On the program: The Crazy and Impertinent History of Women; Cabaret Your Mother; From the Quays to the Stage, by Elina Dumont.

Fnac & ELLE magazine meeting: “Alongside Afghan Women”

Fnac Ternes is organizing a Fnac & ELLE magazine meeting “Alongside Afghan women” on March 8th at 6:00 PM. Committed to access to education and sensitive to the conditions of women around the world, Fnac is supporting the ELLE magazine photo report exhibition, “Alongside Afghan women – Resisting”, hosted for the occasion at Fnac Ternes from March 2nd to 28th.

In this context, on March 8th, for International Women’s Rights Day, Fnac Ternes will welcome photographer Philippe de Poulpiquet, journalist Ava Djamshidi, and the editor-in-chief of ELLE magazine Véronique Philipponnat, for an exceptional meeting about these women, who are the first victims of the Taliban’s return to power in Afghanistan.

Women’s scavenger hunt with Anima

To celebrate International Women’s Rights Day, Anima, a specialist in real-life games, and the Cercle de Simone, an apolitical, secular, and mixed association working for the defense of women’s rights in particular, are teaming up to offer you 1 hour 30 minutes of women’s scavenger hunt in the Latin Quarter in Paris on Sunday, March 6, 2022.

Women’s Day at the Clemenceau Museum

The Clemenceau Museum presents the exhibition “Women and Clemenceau. Freedom as a horizon”, from March 8 to July 30, 2022, looking at Clemenceau‘s positions on women’s rights through several female portraits among his acquaintances: Louise Michel, Marguerite Durand, Séverine, Rose Caron, Blanche Hoschedé-Monet, … And on the occasion of Women’s Day, admission to the exhibition will be free for women on March 8th.

Solidarity meal at Sofitel Lyon Bellecour

Solidarity meal Sofitel Lyon to support the Stars and Women program.

For International Women’s Rights Day, the Sofitel Lyon Bellecour has decided for the occasion to highlight its partnership with the Des Etoiles et des Femmes Lyon association by donating €15 for each table booked on March 8th in their Le 8 restaurant.

The Lyon branch of this association is working in 2021/2022 for the professional inclusion of 12 women far from employment. It offers them individual support and training in the catering trades through theoretical teaching and practical internships in partner establishments, of which the Sofitel Lyon Bellecour is a part.
