Sometimes I tell myself that if I weren’t a blogger, I would sometimes come across as socially awkward to the rest of the world.
It is true that it took an invitation from Allianz to the launch of their support program for French athletes for me to remember that the Summer Olympic Games were taking place this year… yes I know, it’s unforgivable.
Anyway, I am happy to announce that the 2012 Olympic Games will be held in London from July 27th to August 12th, and please don’t come and ruin my fun by telling me that, obviously, you were already aware. Let me have the pleasure of believing that I wasn’t the only one who had slightly forgotten about this event…
But what you might not know is that you will be able to send free support messages directly to your favorite French athletes thanks to the digital platform created by Allianz around the I Like France concept.
The goal of this operation is to build a bridge between fans who couldn’t make it to England for the Olympics and the athletes competing in the games.
All of this via a Facebook application that allows fans to write or record their support messages using their webcam microphone. These words of encouragement will then be displayed directly in London at Club France on a giant screen, reaching their recipients directly.
And what’s more, for every message left by internet users, Allianz will donate 1 euro to the French Adapted Sport Federation.
As for the oral messages, they will be broadcast to the athletes via audio spots.
Athletes passing through Club France might even take the time, between two training sessions, to respond to their fans using touch tablets.
Of course, supporters who have traveled to London will also be able to leave messages on-site at Club France, using touch-screen kiosks and even get their photo taken wearing the French team jersey.
In the digital age, what could be more beautiful than being able to be virtually present with French athletes to encourage them via social networks.
