March Read of the Month (draft in progress)

Mademoiselle Bon Plan and I are delighted to offer and present for the first time on the blog, a new cultural page dedicated to novels. If you like the idea, we are already thrilled about it. During the morning of March 1st, I had the chance to meet author David Zaoui at the Psychologies magazine offices to talk about his new novel. David explained to us that he didn’t use his own story, but that of his grandmother, and his imagination did the rest. I love these exchanges where all questions are welcome. “When you start your novel, do you already know the ending?” Yes, that’s my way of working, even if the situations can vary as the story progresses. “Is your novel known abroad?” Yes, in Belgium and Germany, among others. “Would you like it to be adapted for the cinema?” Nothing is confirmed, but we are working on it. As someone who didn’t know him, I immediately connected with his world. Born in 1977, David Zaoui was a director and producer in the cinema, especially in the United States. He discovered directing through the Cours Florent he attended. Today, he devotes himself to writing after having been a winner of the Chambéry First Novel Festival in ??. The story of the book: Alfredo, Daisy’s grandson, learns that she has Alzheimer’s disease. But what a shock it was when the doctor suggested a monkey to keep his grandmother company!
