There is nothing more exhilarating than playing tourist in your own city. Pretending, convincing yourself you’re heading off on vacation, sleeping in a different bed, dreaming between different sheets…
It’s a pleasure that might seem… but it is nevertheless a true breath of fresh air when you live in a large urban city, caught in the whirlwind of city life.
La Demeure by Flavie+Paul
Reimagined and redesigned by a young duo of designers, La Demeure offers high-quality service that invites guests to feel right at home. In harmony with everyone’s dreams and needs, the duo Flavie+Paul have successfully translated their vision of design here: imagining functional living spaces with a modern and glamorous aesthetic.
La Demeure is an establishment that has existed for 10 years, located on Boulevard Saint-Marcel, in the heart of the Gobelins district, just a stone’s throw from the Jardin des Plantes.
In a Haussmann-style building typical of Paris’s grand boulevards, La Demeure has been managed since it opened by the Cauet Family, who infuse the hotel with the feel of a guesthouse, thanks to their intimate and particularly personalized relationship with each of their guests.
La Demeure has 37 rooms and 6 suites, all with a decidedly contemporary look.
My little selection of rooms:
The Eiffel room which offers a stunning view of Paris. With direct access to a small terrace, guests can settle in and take the time to admire the view of all of Paris at their feet.
The Cinema suite, equipped with a video projector and a screen that lowers into the doorway between the living room and the bedroom. An app that provides free access to a media library of over 120 cult films to choose from on your iPad.
The Gourmet Suites are equipped with a small wine cellar and offer guests wine and chocolate, or champagne and chocolate tasting sessions, with pairings defined by chocolate sommelier Lauranie Nonotte and explained in a little booklet published for guests.
The Là-Haut suite, a shopping suite under the eaves, which offers a large number of services. A Louis Vuitton shopping bag and an iPad will welcome guests, as well as a few other surprises concocted by François-Xavier Cauet and his teams.

L’Hôtel le Marianne
This boutique hotel, nestled in Rue Paul Baudry, set back from the hustle and bustle of the Champs Elysées, despite being very close, takes the opposite approach to Parisian establishments by offering its guests a stay with a confidential vibe. Le Marianne asserts itself as an address with the feel of a private home, and this is all the more justified as the hotel is located in a former Haussmann residential building, rehabilitated by architect Vincent Bastie and decorated by Charles Zana.
You feel like you’re in a soothing, cozy, and refined refuge, where art meets the Art of Living, within a warm and authentic atmosphere.

La Maison Champs Elysées
Alright, be careful, because I’m sharing a well-kept secret with you, so shh, only repeat this to your best friends.
La Maison Champs Elysées is a confidential address, hidden on Rue Goujon, a stone’s throw from the Champs Elysées, obviously, in the heart of the Golden Triangle. This 5-star hotel, beautifully decorated according to the codes of designer Martin Margiela, mixes styles and eras for a result full of poetry.
The venue contains a Cigar bar, a restaurant, La Table du Huit, an interior terrace, the Blind Bar (which serves an exquisite hot chocolate), and a Couture and Boutique collection of 57 rooms and suites.
For the record, the venue is housed in the former Hôtel d’Essling, a Second Empire-era building, and part of the salons used today for seminars has been restored to its original state. This private mansion was built in 1866 for the Duchess of Rivoli, Princess of Essling and Grand Mistress of the Household of Empress Eugénie.

Hôtel Citadines Suite Arc de Triomphe
This new luxury residence from The Ascott Limited is located on Avenue Kléber in Paris, and it is the group’s 2nd residence positioned in this segment, following the April 2013 opening of Citadines Suites Louvre Paris, a 5-star residence located a stone’s throw from the Palais-Royal.
This place is the result of the successful meeting of the postmodernism of a building designed by Ricardo Bofill and the Haussmann style of a 19th-century building, after major renovations.
The residence therefore offers in this unique setting a great surface area of suites and apartments (from 30 to 108 m²), with high-end amenities and personalized service.
