In the month of June 2013, at the start of summer (or so we hope), architects are opening up their finest creations for visits. These Architectures à vivre Days have existed for 13 years already and are the result of a partnership between Architectures à vivre magazine and 123 Architecte, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Communication.

They will take place on June 14, 15, 16 and June 21, 22, 23, 2013.

This event aims to raise awareness among the general public about architectural quality by offering visits to houses or apartments designed by architects. In total, more than 400 houses, apartments, extensions, or lofts—whether new or renovated—are presented each year throughout France to some 22,000 loyal participants.

Here is a small selection in pictures of house projects to visit all over France.

Practical information:

The price for the visits is €2 per person per project. They take place by appointment in groups of at least 6 people and last from 30 to 45 minutes. They are conducted by the architect who presents their project alongside the owners.

The days and times are set by the project manager in agreement with the occupants. The Architectures à vivre Days guide presents the proposed projects and is available at newsstands from early June 2013.

For registration procedures, to find the list of houses to visit, and to sign up (starting from Monday, June 3 for France and Wednesday, June 5 for Paris and the Ile-de-France region), please consult the website www.avivre.net.
