The Friday Film Classes at the Forum des Images have been around for many years. It’s obviously a great deal, as these film classes are completely free!
And since the Forum des Images is a place I particularly enjoy, I wanted to write a quick article about it.
The concept is simple: every Friday at 6:30 PM, film critics, historians, or theorists offer “film readings” related to the current cycle at the Forum, illustrated with clips and followed by a debate with the audience.
These lectures are open to everyone (subject to availability, of course) and last about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Now, if you want to know the detailed program, click right here. So, now you know what to do next Friday if you’re bored…
In addition to this, you can also watch the archives of these film classes online for free if you ever missed any sessions.
Beyond these free film classes, the Forum des Images also organizes the Sorbonne Film Debates. These debates are presented by the Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University and are designed and hosted by students from the Master’s program in Screenwriting, Directing, and Production.
In collaboration with the Académie des César, the Sorbonne Film Debates offer a series of meetings with major French technicians who have recently won a César award.
These debates take place once a month at 7:30 PM, from October to March, and are also free entry!
