The People’s University at the Musée du Quai Branly

Since I love sharing an inventory of free, high-quality courses you can find in Paris, today I want to talk to you about the conference series offered by the Musée du Quai Branly. Every year, the Musée du Quai Branly’s People’s University pursues its ambition of sharing knowledge, sparking debate, developing critical thinking, and comparing viewpoints to address the challenges of our contemporary society.

Several themes are explored. In 2022/2023, the People’s University offers a new lecture series conceived by Anne Lafont, art historian, and Anne-Christine Taylor, anthropologist. As part of this new program, they question the theme of transmission through three subjects: School, The Body, and War. During this second semester, anthropologists, sociologists, historians, curators, and ethologists help us understand the concept of transmission in their respective disciplines and in the worlds of yesterday and today.

These entirely free sessions (offered online or at the Claude Lévi-Strauss theater) will take the form of a discussion between two speakers, a moderator, and a presenter, followed by an exchange with the public.

If you are interested in the program of these conference series, you can find all the information on upcoming lectures right here.
