A daytime hotel room with Dayroomhotel

Today I wanted to tell you about a concept that has emerged quite recently in the hotel industry. Indeed, hotels have started renting out their rooms during the day as well.

The principle is simple: the Dayroom is defined as an English term allowing, as the name implies, the rental of rooms by the day.

The website soroom-hotel offers its customers hotels located all over Paris with some standard rooms starting at €45. And for €100, guests can enjoy the luxurious comfort of a suite.

Rental takes place during the day (all week and on weekends) from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

The site is simple, accessible, and it takes very little time to book a daytime room. Everything has been designed to make choosing easy: with a selection of photos, details on amenities, rates, as well as Google maps…

The question remains for this service: who is it for and what is it for?

For my part, I believe everyone can find their own answer. Of course, the first reason that comes to mind is extramarital affairs. However, little by little, the concept is clearly attracting more conventional couples as well.

You can see it as a moment of intimacy to spice up your life as a couple and surprise your partner, or as a solution for “young” university-age couples who don’t want to be bothered at their parents’ house. Another idea: to benefit from nice amenities that we don’t have access to at home, such as a bathtub (a very rare commodity in our small Parisian apartments) for a relaxing soak, for example.

Some frequent travelers and business people on a layover might also be looking for a room for a few hours.

In short, the quirky idea of enjoying a hotel room in your own city, and not necessarily for an overnight stay, remains a curious but intriguing concept. Perhaps worth testing?
