My Spooky Good Deals for Halloween 2017

by Melle Bon Plan
Published: Updated:

I have always loved the atmosphere of the Halloween holiday… I can’t really tell you why… Perhaps because I enjoy the supernatural, unexplained phenomena, or just because the imagination that this holiday releases remains, for me, a unique moment in the annual calendar.

Anyway, here is my traditional selection of good deals to enjoy during this frightening holiday, which will take place this year on the night of Tuesday, October 31st

A bit of history:

At the origin of this holiday is the day of Samhain, which marked the end of the Celtic year and provided an opportunity for spirits to come and haunt the houses of the living. For a long time, the Catholic Church sought to get rid of this pagan commemoration.

The feast of Samhain (dating back to the 3rd century BC) included 3 days of solemnities: the 1st dedicated to the memory of heroes, the 2nd to the memories of the deceased, and the 3rd to popular and family festivities around a banquet.

On the program: one ticket, two paths, and three floors, with Liens de Sang where you will be guests of a household with morbid customs, and then with ‘Rituel,’ where exorcism is making a comeback.

Dia de los Muertos, the Mexican All Saints’ Day

Since my trip to Mexico in 2016, I’ve wanted to tell you about the special Parisian Dia de los Muertos parties to add a bit of Mexican color to All Saints’ Day. And that’s perfect because it seems to be the trendy thing to do again this year…

  • The show “Au-delà de Frida,” which is performing for the first time in France on October 27th in Paris for a unique performance at the Apollo Théâtre (price 11€).

Dia de los Muertos: skull decorated with blue and purple flowers.

  • To celebrate life, yesterday and today, with the attributes and rituals of the Mexican festival #FleursDeLosMuertos, Lajoiedesfleurs.fr offers us a dive into a world of candles, incredible makeup, and flowered skulls.

On the program:

a candle shop (because the candle is more than a symbol during Dia De Los Muertos, it lights the way for souls to come and meet their families…), a flower crown workshop, a makeup and PhotoBooth workshop, and from 8 PM, a Flower Party and floral cocktails!

November 1, 2017 from 5 PM to 11 PM

Cour du Marais Paris
81 rue des Archives, 75003 Paris

But well, after our little Mexican trip, I am convinced that to fully experience it, you have to do Dia de los Muertos in Mexico; I think it must be unforgettable!…
