Not far from the hustle and bustle of the lively capital, just 25 minutes away, Chantilly is a vast estate of princely beauty, peaceful and enchanting. As soon as you arrive, a sense of well-being takes hold. Time stands still, transporting us back into history. There, in the middle of this immense carpet of greenery, stands the Château de Chantilly, sculptural and majestic; it is the master of the estate. A former 19th-century residence of Henri d’Orléans, Duke of Aumale, son of the last King of the French, its elegance is reflected in the calm waters of the lake that borders it. Take the time to sit on the benches in the park facing it. Today, I invite you to enjoy the Chantilly Plant Days, an unmissable event for garden and nature enthusiasts, held every year in May and October. On the agenda, nursery owners, botanists, landscape designers, collectors, artisans, and artists come to meet passionate or beginner gardeners alike.
As you know, I really like Chantilly, which I have already talked about at length in a previous article “A weekend getaway in Chantilly” where you will find plenty of information about the town, as well as ideas for visits and things to do in Chantilly. Don’t hesitate to take a look!

Chantilly Plant Days: May 2024 edition
This May 2024 edition, the 17th, was held over 3 days with nearly 200 exhibitors, workshops, and meetings in the Château de Chantilly park. The theme of this edition was “Garden Scents” to highlight the role of fragrance in bringing another dimension to the garden through scented plants. In parallel with this theme, magnolias were also honored in this edition, and I even had the opportunity to taste magnolia wine, the Galisson from the Martin-Luneau estate. And the patron of this edition was Cordelia de Castellane, a designer and artistic director for the Dior Maison and Baby Dior lines. Finally, for this 2024 edition, the brand Confiture Parisienne and the Château de Chantilly presented a collection of 3 unique flavors: Raspberry Blackcurrant Lily, Orange Vanilla Lily, and Strawberry Raspberry Lily.

Chantilly Plant Days: October 2018 edition
On October 19, 20, and 21, 2018, the 8th edition of the Chantilly Plant Days was held! For this new edition, the estate hosted the most important event in Europe dedicated to plants and garden life. In this idyllic setting, plants, shrubs, and flowers of all varieties and origins were presented to the public. Three days of exhibitions/sales where the cream of the crop of nursery owners met to present great classics or new varieties. The event is a true delight for the senses. Scents and colors combine in perfect harmony.
We were lucky enough to be able to attend the previous edition which took place last May and to do some very interesting gardening workshops. The Chantilly estate was decked out in a thousand colors and invited you to participate in numerous activities and highlights: The Chantilly Prize which rewards the most remarkable stands, and the presentation of the National Conservatory of Specialized Plant Collections Label.
Try to unearth the rare gem that will beautify your home or participate in numerous workshops, such as: How to care for your trees and shrubs, create an autumn bouquet, and numerous activities for children. Come also and treat yourself to the specialties of the estate and in particular its honey, as well as fresh figs from Pépinières Figoli. A new edition that promised to live up to the event’s reputation. What could be more pleasant for the start of this rather summery autumn!
