You may or may not know this, but I work in the art world, in museums to be more precise. I am therefore quite sensitive to works of art.
I was immediately excited when discovering the universe and behind-the-scenes of Muzéo (which I have already told you about several times on the blog), the #1 site for selling and customizing “Made in France” art reproductions. The Parisian company offers high-quality art prints, with a fairly impressive selection.
The production of these works is done in their workshops near Bastille. Each piece is produced with a certificate of authenticity and a numbered label validating the quality and uniqueness of the product. You have a choice between reproductions of paintings, as well as photography, drawings, and prints.
The big plus: you can customize your artwork by choosing the format, material, and frame. Each time, a click is enough to get a photo of what it will look like in situ.
An original gift idea, then, that really stands out from the ordinary, and if your taste does not lean towards the classic in terms of artwork, the site also offers a very sharp and very interesting collection of photo prints by contemporary artists, depending on your desires and budget to decorate your interior or that of your loved ones (dimensions, texture, framing…).
The good news is that with prints starting from €28.50, everyone can invite art into their home.
The 2015 novelty from the house is the ability to now put these reproductions on a collection of decorative items such as cushions, lampshades, or even wallpaper.
The crafting of my lampshade with the Hokusai wave:
As I particularly appreciate prints, I fell for the Hokusai reproductions, which I had mentioned during this artist’s retrospective at the Grand Palais in 2014. I therefore chose to put the artist’s famous Wave on my lampshade and, sincerely, I am very happy with the result.
The first step is of course to choose your visual, then the format of your lampshade (here a 30 x 30 cm, but there are 3 different formats in total) and finally to choose if you want a table lamp or pendant light assembly.
price: count about €180 for the 30 x 30 cm format
The hot tip:
Muzéo is currently offering Christmas promotions with many discounts on their website, so now is the time to take advantage if you still have last-minute gifts to buy.

The very good news is that Muzeo is partnering with the blog to let you win the same lampshade as the one I made with the team of artisans at Muzéo in their workshops, meaning with the Hokusai wave design.
