On Saturday, July 7, 2012, from 2 PM to 6 PM, the Paris Tropical Carnival, organized by the Paris City Hall (General Delegation for Overseas Territories), will wander through the streets of the capital.
More than 4,000 carnival performers from all four corners of the globe (Martinique, Guadeloupe, Réunion, Mayotte, Colombia, China, Vietnam, England, Brazil, Guadeloupe…) will be there to showcase their joy of living and the diversity of their dances, music, and costumes.
200,000 spectators are expected to celebrate along with the carnival performers if you wish to join them.
Departure scheduled for 2 PM at Place de la Nation.
The procession of performers, led by the Carnival Queen elected on April 28th at the Paris Fair, will then travel along Boulevard Voltaire and make a stop at Place Léon Blum. The parade will continue its path along Avenue Parmentier and then Rue du Chemin Vert to make a festive halt in front of new attractions at Place Auguste Métivier.
The party will then move along Boulevard de Ménilmontant and Boulevard Philippe Auguste before returning to Place de la Nation by 6 PM.
