The summer sales kick off today, Wednesday, June 25, and will run until Tuesday, July 29, 2014.
This event is a true must-attend for bargain hunters and deal lovers, and the perfect opportunity to stock up on new clothes for the summer season.
In keeping with my tradition of thematic articles, here is my personal selection of top tips to keep in mind for these sales.
Great Deal at Galeries Lafayette Haussmann
For the first day of the sales at Galeries Lafayette Haussmann, one Evian drop (a small, drop-shaped bottle, that is…) will be offered to the first 2,500 fashionistas to quench their thirst. A lovely idea, I think…

Shopping the sales at France’s largest fashion and luxury outlet
To stack your savings, the best tip is to head over to the brand new Île-de-France premium outlet during these sale periods: One Nation Paris.
Since the concept of the outlet is to normally offer previous year’s collections at a minimum of 30% off, you can imagine that the trip is well worth it.
One Nation Paris / 1 avenue du Président Kennedy 78340 Les Clayes-sous-Bois

The little extra: thanks to a Wishlist, you can save your favorite items.

FidMe geolocates the sales
Not negligible for the shopping marathon starting today, FidMe is a shopping app that lets you gather your loyalty cards (barcode and stamp-based) in your mobile, so you always have them on you when you need them and to lighten your wallet.
On Thursday, June 26, a new update will allow you to geolocate coupons offered by shops around you on a map. And on top of that, notifications alert us to new offers.

To help us shop smart, Lara Le Joncour gives us her useful tips to make the most of these 5 weeks of discounts and redo our wardrobe at a lower cost, without stress and without wasting hours in the stores.
Here are the 6 rules to be a great shopper:
- Scout things out in advance
- Dress in combat gear (the goal is to be able to try on as many clothes as possible in a minimum amount of time), with comfortable shoes above all
- Opt for a ‘no makeup’ look; this will avoid fashion faux pas
- Follow your heart—if you’re hesitating for a long time over that sequined dress, resist it and don’t buy it! It has a 100% chance of ending up abandoned at the back of your closet…
- Don’t buy just because it’s on sale
- Make a list of what you need, this will prevent you from buying the same thing over and over
All that’s left is for me to wish you all happy shopping!
