Like every year at this time, the famous Paris International Agricultural Show transforms the Versailles exhibition center into a giant farm.
This year, the event, themed around the collective, will be held from Saturday, February 24th to Sunday, March 4th, 2018.
As usual, I will definitely be paying a visit, and after combing through the program, I have put together my personal selection of top tips to make the most of your visit to this Parisian show.
Mademoiselle Bon Plan’s personal selection:
Table of Contents
The AOP Ossau-Iraty cheeses (Booth 1 D 47)
Like every year, AOP Ossau-Iraty, originating from Béarn and the Basque Country—the only ewe’s milk cheese from the Pyrenees-Atlantiques recognized with an AOP (Protected Designation of Origin) and made in the pure tradition of the region’s shepherds—is participating in the Paris International Agricultural Show.
The goal is to introduce this local product to as many people as possible, while highlighting the wide variety within these cheeses:
- The fairly mild dairy Ossau-Iraty
- The Basque and Béarn farmstead-style Ossau-Iraty
- The summer pasture (estive) Ossau-Iraty
An unmissable opportunity to meet the many producers and (re)discover, through tastings, all the richness of this cheese that has been crowned the world’s best cheese three times.

La Ferme De Viltain (Booth – Hall 1 – Aisle P – Booth 54)
I previously told you about the Ferme de Viltain, which I discovered during the previous edition of Goûts d’Yvelines.
On the agenda: fun activities for children on the themes of discovering the life of a cow and nature, and this year, children will attend a lesson to understand how yogurt is made!

The Harmony Charter at the Paris International Agricultural Show
This year, the Harmony charter returns to the Paris International Agricultural Show to present the process and the role of the different links in the chain – from field to biscuit – to all audiences: consumers, the agricultural sector, associations, scientists, media, and politicians, whether they are novices or experts.
Since 2008, LU has created the Harmony program: an initiative that aims to cultivate wheat using practices that are increasingly respectful of the environment.
Top tip: I will be giving away more invitations for the show thanks to the Harmony Charter on one of my social networks… Stay tuned!

Passion Céréales (Odyssée Végétale Booth – Hall 2.2)
After my little jaunt in the Beauce region for the harvest, I remain attached to this association that highlights the cereal interprofessional sector.

To discover at the booth:
- Guided tour of a cereal farm: crops, points of interest, innovations, etc.
- Bakery, bread-making animation
- Boarding a real combine harvester (I did this for real in the Beauce and it was incredible!!!) and discovering the harvest in 360° thanks to an immersive headset
