Created by Sylvie Douce and François Jeantet, the Salon du Chocolat is a unique cultural, gourmet, and artistic event centered around Chocolate. Among other things, it showcases the best chocolatiers and the latest innovations in the world of chocolate.
This year, the Salon du Chocolat will take place this week, from October 28 to November 1, 2016 in Paris, for its 22nd edition.
From Pierre Hermé to Pierre Marcolini, including Jean Paul Hévin, Christophe Michalak, Hugues Pouget, Vincent Guerlais, François Pralus, or even Philippe Conticini… The greatest names and the rising generation of chocolate and pastry have been appearing for 20 years at this benchmark event.
On the program: Masterclasses, demonstrations, book signings, educational workshops for kids and adults, culinary competitions, a series of conferences, etc.
Melle Bon Plan’s little selection:
- For the first time, the Salon du Chocolat is offering 3,000 limited-edition tickets via its partner, Fnac, for its opening ceremony scheduled for October 27. This evening, usually reserved only for media and celebrities (including me, of course! :p), will be accessible to the general public. What’s more, it’s for a good cause: these tickets, priced higher than standard public days, will be sold in support of the Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque association. A great opportunity to treat yourself while doing a good deed!
- Vincent Guerlais will be offering an exclusive preview tasting of the latest creations from his Nantes chocolate shop at booth D20. There will also be “Chocolate 3.0” demonstrations using augmented reality, as well as Woow E-motion / Vincent Guerlais prizes to be won at the stand.
- Leonidas is presenting its traditional giant sculpture, created by Jean-Luc Decluzeau, as it does every year, along with an exclusive creation for the Salon du Chocolat: a gift box decorated with a “Limited Edition” sleeve on a fashion theme, filled with 20 chocolates with a ganache blending Violet and Vanilla, covered in dark chocolate.

To showcase the brand’s expertise, the three Leonidas Master Chocolatiers will be present at the Leonidas stand, taking turns over the five days of the event to create this exclusive recipe in front of visitors.
- The artist Richard Orlinski and Le chocolat des Français have teamed up to create a monumental King Kong made of chocolate, standing over 6 meters tall! It took 4 months of work and nearly one ton of chocolate to create the piece. It will be exhibited during this Salon du Chocolat.

- Daily chocolate dress fashion shows (including one by Jean-Paul Hévin), every day at 5:00 PM.
