Jazz lovers will be able to indulge their passion for 24 hours thanks to the first International Jazz Day, which will be held this coming Monday, April 30th, in several cities around the world.
This event is organized in France by UNESCO with the collaboration of the Jazz Academy and several jazz clubs located on Rue des Lombards in Paris (Duc des Lombards, Sunset-Sunside, Baiser Salé). For the latter, the goal is a “white night” to the sound of jazz, scheduled to last until 6:00 AM.
In Paris, the festivities will open on Friday, April 27, 2012, at UNESCO headquarters, and will continue over the following days.
This day will be punctuated by numerous activities such as masterclasses (given by renowned jazz musicians), conferences, debates, musical performances and of course, concerts!
On the program: Tigran Hamasyan, Swan Berger, Riccardo Del Fra, Raphael Gualazzi, Giovanni Mirabassi, or even Dominique Fillon. And that’s not all, as Herbie Hancock, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Barbara Hendricks, Ibrahim Malouf, Marcus Miller, Hugh Masekela, or even Biréli Lagrène will offer spectators exceptional masterclasses.
To attend these concerts and masterclasses, head over to the official UNESCO website and register online!
