Following my habit of introducing you to a gourmet Parisian address every week, today I would like to present to you a fine grocery store, Amoncel, which has been open since November 2013 and offers a world of gourmet flavors.
Its founder, Vanessa Barbier, a 28-year-old former high-level athlete, wanted to share with her customers her healthy and balanced way of life, as well as the various travels that allowed her to discover and select exceptional products.
A great spot to grab a tea, hot chocolate, or a coffee if you happen to be near the intersection of Rue Etienne Marcel and Boulevard Sébastopol. In a fun and gourmet coincidence, this address is located right next to one of the Spicy Home locations I recently tested; two addresses to note if you’re in the neighborhood!
The place is a true Ali Baba’s cave for lovers of dried fruits and berries of all kinds, which are even roasted on-site to ensure freshness and quality. You can also choose the exact quantity you want, and service is done with a scoop.
Here’s a quick tip: it’s also the perfect place for a gourmet, healthy, and original gift.
As its name, inherited from Old French, suggests, l’amoncel gathers a wide variety of dried fruits, renowned for their benefits, exquisite tastes, and nutritional values, which are a guarantee of health and longevity.
Information on the nutritional benefits of each product, as well as tips on how to use them to your heart’s content, are provided in the shop.
The little extra: the central wooden table, which really makes you want to sit down and enjoy a hot drink (the coffee beans are roasted on-site, by the way) or savor one of their delicious, balanced salads (€4.70) for a lunch break.
On the menu: quinoa salads with vegetables, lentil salads with vegetables and feta, or farfalle with chicken and pesto… All these salads are, of course, garnished with dried fruits for a satisfying and energizing effect.
There is also a set menu for €9.60 including a salad, a drink, a yogurt, and to finish the meal off perfectly, a complimentary espresso!
Connoisseurs can also enjoy coffee roasted and freshly ground on-site, made from exceptional beans sourced from the four corners of the globe, with grinds adapted to all types of coffee machines.
