Great places in the 10th arrondissement of Paris

by Melle Bon Plan
Published: Updated:

As we know, Paris is full of artisan workshops, original boutiques, gourmet grocery stores, and great places that are sometimes a bit hidden… Of course, you know that one of my biggest passions in life is to find and share these spots with you. Today, I’m taking on this exercise for the 10th arrondissement of Paris (75010), with both addresses I’ve already talked about on the blog and a new selection of establishments recently discovered thanks to Semaest (a semi-public company for the City of Paris for the preservation and development of local commerce and craftsmanship) and their #ParisInsideCosto trails, which allow you to meet artisans/creators and shop differently: local, unique, and supportive.

The tip: I have even put together a special Christmas trail with the help of Semaest where each shopkeeper offers a little “great deal” (discounts, gifts, etc.) specifically for my readers throughout the month of December (yes, I know, the month is already well underway, but I didn’t have time to finish this article sooner…).

So here is the short list of boutiques that I recommend in the capital’s 10th arrondissement, along with a special tip for each address.

Jamini

A lovely boutique for a fashion accessory and home decor brand that draws its inspiration from traditional Indian weaving. You’ll find cotton, wool, and silk products that are woven or printed and come from artisans in different regions of India.

La Caravelle des Saveurs

Paula Simao, passionate about food and Portuguese culture, opened a Lusophone gourmet grocery store in the heart of the Saint-Martin district, which I had already mentioned at the end of my Food Tour in Lisbon. You’ll discover high-quality, authentic products from Portuguese, Brazilian, and even Angolan producers.

The extra touch: the grocery store is also meant to be a living space, as a snacking area with a large convivial table in the middle of the shop allows you to taste the delights of Caravelle on-site.

Bonhomie is a restaurant and cocktail bar located in the vibrant 10th district, on rue d’Enghien. If you are an enthusiast, I really recommend you try the cocktails by Samy Tabouche Bougharbel, which are truly excellent. Food-wise, you will find Mediterranean-flavored plates to share. A favorite for Jordan’s cacio e pepe pasta frittata, which is very addictive. And honestly, everything is good and delicious, and I love the concept of getting several dishes to share for the whole table. The wine list is also very interesting, with a beautiful selection of sunny Mediterranean gems if you are feeling a bit adventurous.

December 2024 / January 2025: the address is hosting Jordan Moilim in the kitchen for a temporary pop-up to enjoy at Bonhomie until December 20, and he will extend it into 2025 from January 3 to 18.

Papelli

Papelli is a pizzeria that makes pizzas (incredible!) with super thin dough. On the plates, the same winning formula that made the first address a success: homemade pizzas with thin and light dough, focaccias, panzerotti, and a super friendly welcome, almost family-like, I would say.

Le Comptoir Général

Le Comptoir Général is a 21st-century cabinet of curiosities and a multi-faceted place (restaurant, bar, concept store, etc.). The concept of the place is multiple, therefore… It is both a museum dedicated to ghetto culture, which sometimes looks like a cabinet of curiosities, and also support for business creation through partnerships and a radical concept store (everything you see on-site is for sale!).

It has a beautiful terrace for sunny days, adorned with tables covered in red and white checkered tablecloths and colorful light bulbs, guinguette-style, for summer evenings.

To finish this article, I made a small Google map for you to help you locate the different addresses (this is my first time on the blog, so I hope it will be useful to you, and don’t hesitate to give me your impressions in the comments if you want them in more articles!).

If this topic pleases you, I also invite you to take a look at Widetrip’s article on what not to miss by arrondissement in Paris.

I hope that with all this I will have made you want to take a little trip to the 10th arrondissement, and if you, too, have your favorite places and tips in the area, don’t hesitate to share them in the comments!
